Pilots The 2007 contest scghedule is pretty much finalized. You can view it in the NC Region News section at www.mini-iac.com Contest Directors should be organizing their AMA sanctions and submitting their contest to the NC Region contest schedule for approval. There is a button link on the front page of the NC Region, or a link in the Schedule section to add your contest. Bob Hudson

Jeff, I plan to attend some this year. I would like to fly a little more IMAC to get a little better at that way of flying, since I do pattern all year. I will make sure to bring dewey if we can get him away from his jet!!! I will admit though if I had a jet like his I would fly it all the time. Wayne, Sorry about that I thought the list was finalized. My bad Andrew

Hmm... I saw the tentative schedules.... and the "final" schedule on the site is a bit light.... on the "tentative" schedule there was something just about every weekend during the summer... I already gave my wife a kiss and said I will see her in the fall!! ![]() There are still several more events that need to be finalized..... don't worry,, we will have plenty of events to fly in!

Haven't heard the fat lady sing yet. Me and Will are still working on contest dates as well. NC region has too many contest. This is great! Maybe we need too cut the distance from 500 miles to 300. 500 miles was good years ago but now there is a contest or more every weekend. Dan |

The schedule as you see it today on the IMAC website in the NC Region News Section allows for just that. Every weekend is booked - except 3 - between the first of May to the end of 3rd weekend of September when the Regional finals contest is held. Some weekends are double booked with contests in Ontario Canada, but in most cases distance is not an issue with those contests. The 2nd weekend of September is open, and I can make the 1st weekend available to a contest further south. Two weekends are open in May. One of those weekends in May is Joe Nall week, so nobody wants that one. There is now a hotbed of activity in south (west) Illinois. We have 2 tentative contests there ( Roxanna and Effingham) but unfortuanately all the weekends are booked. Suggestions please. Bob, As much as most people want to to travel 500 miles to a contest it is a bit costly and time consuming. Many of us don't have campers so that means another night to pay for a hotel. Not complaining, but if contest were closer there would probably be more people flying in Imac. Nobody wants to drive 7-8 hours to a contest with so many people your lucky to get in three flights. I like seeing everyone but.... If were having problems now it will be the same next year. People willing to hold an Imac contest will never be able to. The only solution I can think of to change the 500 to 300 mile limit is to send in a RFA( Request for action) and see where that goes. Dan |

Dan, We don't need an RFA - it is the RD's discretion. Bob can change the limit if he wants. The only thing to remember is that 300 miles between contests means only 150 miles from the middle. If someone lives between the two, it can cut the attendance at one or the other. BUT - if we have the demand, then we should definitely do something about it. Man, I'm glad I'm not the RD anymore! Seriously, Bob, change if if you think it will help. Ken |
