Default Re: Lincolnland IMAC Challenge-Springfield, IL

I would again like to thank everyone that attended our contest. A big Thank You goes to Roger for the excellant job of scoring. I need to Thank Mike Behl for being our CD and Wayne's idea of the board for Judge's. Even when we had a conflict with board I had no problem getting someone else to Judge.

It looked Friday as if we might have problems with the weather but we were blessed to have the weekend turn out very nice. Must have been the IMAC Gods looking down on us.

I can tell you that it didn't matter to the club members or the landowner that we had a low turnout. They all felt that the work was worth it. Two other club members have decided to start flying IMAC as a result of the event at our field. Some of the flyers that I talked to today feel that the date for our event could be better if it were earlier. I will try next year to see if there other dates that might work for us but as a last result we will at a minimum keep the dates that we have. I think we will try to add a cookout for the pilots on Saturday night next year as part of the fee that you pay.

We want to improve every year so please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks again for coming to Springfield and if I ever have a chance to practice I will see you all at some of the other contests.

PS. I hope Tucson had a good time Will!

Mike, Bruce, Roger;

Thanks for a great weekend. Besides a little frigid breeze on Saturday morning, the weather was perfect!!! Tucson loved the pond and made a lot of new friends--he slept well on the way home.

Don't let the poor turnout prevent you from having a contest next year. Having the contest the same weekend as another event will really pull people away. You guys have a great place and we will be back next year.

Marian

Thanks Don for the pictures.

Thanks Marian. I promise that we will continue to have the event and the club members are behind me although we may look at a different date.

they had to be looking at someone because they weren't looking in Canada on saturday. we froze our nuts off, up there with high winds blowing in. sunday was better with clear blue skys and light wind.

I hate wussies...

got the new wings (3rd set) only got about 3 flights on them and then the rudder input on the stick would not move the rudder, the tech guy said something in the bottom of the stick went bad. I'm thinking if they can't ups it to me before the regionals maybe drive over to champain and see if I can pick it up directly from them on thrusday or friday. missed effingham because of the wings and springfield 'cause of the tx, i'd hate to miss the regional too.

you'll have to see them
