I arrived at the field at 7:15 hoping to have enough time to get a flight only to find planes already in the air and line up 2 and 3 deep! Well that and a dead ignition battery (doh) and I guess no practice for Hubb. The weather is just fantastic and we should have a bright blue sky to fly in this morning.

At last count we had 51 registered pilots! There are 18 in sportsman. Jorgy and Big Lew are first up to judge sportsman...see you in a few hours boys!!

We should get 2 rounds easy and try for 3 as it gets closer to the end of the day and we can see where we are at in the rounds

1st round scores are posted and 2nd round is underway for most of the classes. No drama to speak of, a couple deadsticks and a blown canister for one pilot. Everybody flying well and keeping the contest moving right along. Looks like only 2 rounds today though. There are 18 pilots in sportsman!

Well, we had a nice little thunderstorm roll through about 5:00 yesterday. We got the rounds in time but had to cancel freestyle. We had some intense moments when the winds picked up. It was a mad dash to get the coverings off of the EZups and we had one blow over and into one of the trailers but the only damage was to the EZup. We ate dinner during the rain storm. After the rains and right before dark we had some off the hook flying going on! Jasaon Danhakle put on a great show with a u-can-do fun fly. Seth did some down and dirty flying with his 100cc python - his display was unreal with plenty of low level rolling and knife edge manuvers. Fog here this morning. Hopefully will burn off pretty quick and we can still get knowns unknowns and freestyle today.

Great contest again by Ric and crew. I think it says a lot about this event when you have $4+ gas, 53 pilots and some people driving 9 1/2+ hours (one way) to come. I think the final count was 53 pilots.

We had a blast and it was fun watching Alex compete in his first IMAC. The whole way home, he kept asking what he can improve on to fly better!

Alex did absolutely awesome!! You've got to be one very proud dad right now! He's not even my son and I was very proud of him. We can start hating it later when he starts beating us.

Ric and HAWKS guys, tremendous job on the contest! For 53 pilots and getting what we got done it is simply amazing. As always, I enjoyed it, and it will definitely be a contest to mark on the calender for next year!

Keith, Alex is flying awesome for only being 11 years old! He is doing absolutely great! You know, in a couple of years he might be beatin' his pop! HaHa! Keep up the great work Alex!
