Most guys stay at the Muncie Roberts hotel downtown. Takes about 15 minutes to get to the field, nice place, you'll be sure to see others there. Indoor pool, too

Ken,

Mark and I were told last night the Roberts is no longer available. It has been turned into an assisted living center for seniors. This came from a guy who does free flight over at Muncie. Might be worth a phone call to verify this info. We will be camping at the field so it wont mess with us.

Cheryl - are you serious? That is going to throw a serious wrench into things! Assisted living for seniors? Can anyone else verify this (not that I don't believe Cheryl!)?

I went to the AMA site and the Roberts isnt on their list of hotels anymore. We haven't stayed there in a few years so I dont have their phone #. Maybe someone who has stayed there last summer can call to verify.

Cheryl,

CAMPING! In April? I trust you have a trailer or something?

I tent it at most of the IMAC events I go to but ours don't start in Ontario till June so it's not to bad. Of course late September can get to be a little chilly at night but a few candles keeps the chill out.

We have a little pop-up camper. Nothing fancy like some of the die-hard campers <g> but it keeps the rain out and the heat in the winter or the cold a/c in the summer. I got a comfy bed and a place to cook so all is good when you can stay at the field and do all that without leaving.

Cliff,

PM me the Best Western details on RCC.

Brian Facey and I are going. We were going to head out Thursday night or Friday some time. We will be going right by you and if you can handle 5 guys would be cheaper for everyone. Anyone bringing a plane?

My Yak just needs weight and ballance then she is done. I have been on the road for two weeks so it has delayed me.

How are Val and the pups?

Great news on your Yak....pics please!

Default North Central Judging and Flying Seminar

Here are the details for the 2007 version of our judging and flying seminar......

The IMAC North Central Judging and Flying Seminar will be held in Muncie at the AMA International Modeling Center on April 21-22, 2007. The course is intended for anyone currently flying or judging IMAC or anyone interested in getting involved in IMAC.

Powerpoint presentations, simulator recordings and stick plane instruction will be given on Saturday morning/early afternoon at the AMA Headquarters (1st floor). We will be covering the basics of reading Aresti through the judging criteria of complex compound maneuvers. The IMAC Flying and Judging Guide and rules will be covered in depth including all new rules for the 2007-08 AMA rules cycle. Tips for flying and practicing unknown sequences will also be discussed. On Saturday (late afternoon) we will move to the AMA Center Stage Flying Site for demonstration of correct and incorrect maneuvers. All participants will practice judging figures, basic sequences, more complex sequences, and unknown sequences flown by demo pilots.

New for this year we will have a flying and trimming session on Sunday for all attendees. Everyone will have the opportunity to fly known and/or unknown sequences with experienced pilots and judges. Feedback will be provided on how to reduce judging downgrades and improve your scores. Don’t forget to bring your plane!

The course will be taught by the IMAC NC Regional Judging Instructors: Tom Wheeler and Kurt Koelling.

The registration fee is $15 for IMAC members and $35 for non-IMAC members (this includes a 1 year IMAC membership of $20). You will be provided with printed materials (presentation information) and box lunches on Saturday. The deadline for registration is April 16, 2007, and I must have received your check or money order by that date. Please make it payable to "Kurt Koelling". My mailing address is:
Kurt Koelling
8454 Daventry Ct.
Powell, OH 43065
Email: Koelling.1@...
Phone: 614-323-8055
You will also be able to sign up for the seminar at the IMAC booth during the Toledo Show. More detailed information (including a flyer with hotel info) for the seminar is available on the IMAC website - North Central Contest Schedule. Looking forward to seeing many of you at the judging seminar!
Kurt Koelling
