Yep thats what I figured.. we have a really dedicated group of guys here in LA that would really benifit with flying with you guys telling us what we suck at. We need to try to plan something some time for some practice.

You think Houston will work for you again this year?
A bunch of us showed up there on Friday and flew all day. We can do that again.

Hey Ryan,

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm almost framed up on my Aerotech Extra 300. Just glued the firewall assembly tonight. Hope to start covering in a couple weeks. I talked to Rick Byrd at Waco about using a scheme similar to his and he's OK with it. I may reverse some of the colors, though. I sure hope mine flies as good as yours. This will become my primary plane for 2007 IMAC.

Have they set a date for the Houston contest yet. The sooner they post it the easier it is for everyone to adjust their schedule. I know 3 of us, maybe 4 from Shreveport are planning on going.....That is if worm can get out of diaper changing duties !

Dean,

Great to hear you are moving along so well on the 300. Rick actually had his scheme on an Extra a few years ago with the red and yellow reversed. Looked great.

Ryan,

I flew the 30x12 yesterday and I LIKED IT -------- A LOT!!!!! It pulls the sh#t out of it, only problem is getting used to the downlines and coming back on the throttle earlier.

A A A A A Absolutely. Its about time you tried it. The downlines are a bit faster with the 30-12. What about noise?

Noise wasnt bad at all Ryan, defintly controllable. All up until Clint Dual flew it wide open across the field I havent seen Jonas's plane fly that fast and it was pretty windy and didnt seem to weather vane as much as it ususally does. I think it would be a good combo for my yak cause it would be a little slower on downlines with my big cowl than those extra cowls but we will see. Ill try it out next time.
