Reminder that the 11th Annual CAPI IMAC is less than two weeks away. Here's the hotel information for those looking. Also, if you are coming, please pre-register via the IMAC site. Just go to the NE Region page and the link is in the upper right hand corner. Hotels: Here's your best bets for hotels at the CAPI in Bowie, MD. I'd feel very comfortable recommending Towneplace Suites, Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn and Rips Country Inn. All are located close together about 15 minutes from the field and have lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. They're located right off of Rt 50 near Rt. 301 in Bowie, MD. There are also two "local" motels listed. Both are much closer to the field but you don't know what you'll get. Dave Nearby "Chain" Hotels- Well known so you should know what to expect. All are located very close to each other and are about $130 -$140 a night. Towneplace Suites Bowie Town Center (301) 262-8045, (800) 257-3000 http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...e-town-center/ About $130-$140 a night. Part of Marriott and fairly new. Probably a good place to stay. Hampton Inn, Bowie (301) 809-1800, (800) 426-7866 15202 Major Lansdale Boulevard Bowie, Maryland 20716 http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml;jsessionid=2DAIFFYUSL3QYCSGBJC3MQQ?cty hocn=BOWMDHX About $130-$140 a ngiht. Part of the Hilton company. Also fairly new and a probably a decent place to stay. Comfort Inn and Conference Center http://www.choicehotels.com/ires/en-US/html/HotelInfo?hotel=MD066&sid=zfm4.ezXmdgODTg.2&sarea= 10711&sname=Bowie&sstate=MD&scountry=US&sradius=40 .23&slat=39.0067&slon=-76.7794&schain=CI&exp=&scity=Bowie&sort=&month=8&d ay=24&depart_month=8&depart_day=26&nroom=1&nadult1 =1&nchild1=0&nadult2=1&nchild2=0&nadult3=1&nchild3 =0&nadult4=1&nchild4=0&nadult5=1&nchild5=0About $130/night for two double beds, non-smoking. "LOCAL" places: not part of a national chain but decent place to stay- Rips Country Inn Information 47 rooms, Renovated 2 years ago (2005) Amenities Room Amenities Official Phone Number (301) 805-5900, (800) 359-7477 Cheap Hotels with no- frills...... very close to the field Forest Hills Motel: 2901 Crain Hwy, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 A no-frills 13 room place that is right near the entrance to the field. You park in front of your room. Cheap. Nothing fancy but folks who have stayed there in the past have said it was fine. Here's their contact info: Information 13 rooms, 1 floor, Check In: 11:00 AM, Check Out: 11:00 AM Amenities Free parking, Pets allowed Room Amenities Air conditioning, Cable TV Type of Property Motel Official Phone Number (301) 627-3969 Bragg Hotel: 7001 SW Crain Hwy, Route 301, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 Another no-frills place. I know little about it other than driving by. It's also close to the field- don't expect the Ritz. It's probably pretty cheap. Information 27 rooms, 1 floor, Built 53 years ago (1954), Check In: 2:00 PM, Check Out: 11:00 AM Amenities Pool (1 outdoor), Free parking, Pets allowed, Room service Room Amenities Air conditioning, Television, Kitchenette (some rooms) Type of Property Motel Official Phone Number (301) 627-1880 Official Phone Number (301) 805-5900, (800) 359-7477 Last edited by dmichael; 08-15-2007 at 02:38 PM. |

Hey Dave, Got my reservation. Hope you've ordered plenty of heat and lots of humidity for us! Wouldn't be the CAPI without it!!! Pete

FYI to all, we are going to have a "bring your own steak" on Saturday at the field. We expect to go later in the day due to not starting flying until 11AM so we'll plan on eating dinner there too. We'll supply the charcoal grill and fixn's to go along with your steak. You bring a steak. We'll have burgers for anyone who doesn't have a steak. Dave | ||||||||||||||||||

Hey Dave, Another great contest and really well done. I was really surprised where I ended up considering the health issues on Friday and what seemed like heat exhaustion by the end of Sat. Guess I fly way better when I don't feel well
