Hey guys, As I mentioned in another thread I am looking at doing an IMAC at the Delaware RC Lums Pond field this year. I am thinking of replacing one event that hasn't done well the last 2 years with an IMAC. Wondering what IMACs are normally held in May and June? Would obviously like to pick a date that doesn't overlap another event. Also like to get a show of hands of how many would be interested in coming to a Delaware IMAC? 800' grass runway about 100' wide. Can't see in the pics.. but there are trees in front of you about 300 or 400' out but easy to deal with. ![]() Smaller runway is for the heli guys.. would be closed for the event probably. Thoughts? |

How high are the trees out in the over fly area? Shouldn't be a problem unless they're really tall.

Looks like a nice spot for a contest. Just dont forget about the Joe Nall in May. That usually takes up about two weekends due to guys traveling down early.

Hey guys, Trees are prob. 100-150' tall... not really a problem I dont think. I think they are probably closer to 600' out.. haven't made that walk in awhile so I can count We have upwards of 180 pilots for Warbirds over Delaware so I dont see an IMAC being an issue as far as space. I am not set on May... could be beginning of June or something. Just hard to find out when all the reg. contests are so I dont pick dates that will conflict. |

Go on the IMAC site, Northeast Region Homepage. There will be a Tentative Schedule there for all the CD's to enter their contests on. That will avoid conflicting dates.

Sinergy, I'm in if you can get the club to do it. Being it's so close Vinny will probably come as well. I'll also toss in any help you need in working it if it comes about BUT, I plan to compete at it as well Folks, I've flown here as a guest a couple of times and there is plenty of room. You can get pretty far out until you need to worry about it and having the second runway, if it were used might be a good idea for running 2 flight lines

I have flown there also and it is a very nice venue. This place is begging for an IMAC event and Jake is just the right guy to get it going. I say make it early! See you all there!!

Alright well I am officially club president as of last week... so this and possible dates will be discussed. It brought it up last month and no one seems to have a problem with it. Mark and I will CD it and I will be putting feelers out of help as well asap. Bill def. appreciate the offer and might take you p on it. We have a few in our club that are thinking about doing IMAC next year and some that want to see what it's all about. What better what to see what it's all about then to help the club host one ![]() Will keep you guys posted. Shoe: Appreciate the input.. I have looked and talked to the assistant web guy.. at this point if I give him a date I will be the first one planning a date. More soon. I would like to do it early in the year as well. Thanks! |
