Not sure about the Camping but, there are a few hotels in the Lexington Park / California area that are pretty nice if you can't camp out there and they are only 15 / 20 minutes away at the most depending on RT.235 traffic. Hope this helps Shawn Off topic, There is one thing I do recommend if you get the chance is to visit the Pax River Naval Air Museum and fly in their combat simulators!! It's on North RT. 235 across from the Hampton Inn. which is about 15 minutes or so away from the field. Last edited by ~SnApRoLl; 10-02-2008 at 03:28 PM. |

The Pax Aero field is owned by Greenwell State Park and leased to the club; consequently Greenwell management will not allow camping. Outside of that restriction, it's a great field for giant scale with no overfly or sound issues to deal with. Our only neighbors are the deer. We do have a number of good hotels to choose from (see previous post). Hope you all decide to make the trip. Give me a call if you have any questions. Troy cell: 301-247-4440 |

I was a member of Paxaero back in the late 80's early 90's and I was supposed to re-join back in June but I had to move back to Florida due to a good job offer. I wish I could be there but I do wish the fly-in to be a safe and great success!! ![]() I sure do miss Good O'l St. Mary's County!!! ![]() Shawn |

| All, We’re looking forward to a terrific weekend of IMAC competition here in Southern Maryland. Hope you all still plan to attend. It looks like the weather is cooperating with forecast temperatures in the lower 70s, winds from the NE under 10 mph, and only a slight chance of rain. The field will be open all day on Friday for practice and pre-registration. Additionally, for those who might want to practice Freestyle, we will be testing our sound system on Friday afternoon as well. A schedule for the weekend follows: Fri 10 Oct – 0900 – Dusk Practice and Preregistration Sat 11 Oct – 7:30 AM – Registration 9:00 – Pilots Meeting 9:30 – Flying Begins 12:00 – Lunch and Freestyle Competition 1:00 – Flying Commences 5:00 – Unknowns Distributed 7:00 – No host social / IMAC judging discussion at Nicoletti's Pizza, 22741 Three Notch Rd (Approx 10 minutes from the field) Sun 12 Oct – 9:00 AM – Pilots Meeting 9:30 – Flying Begins 1:00 – Awards Presentation We are planning to fly 3-4 rounds on Sat and 2 rounds on Sun, including the unknown. Because the Patuxent Aeromodelers is located close to Naval Test Pilot School and Naval Air Systems Command, we have a large spectator potential for the event, which is why we’ve elected to fly our Freestyle on Sat vice Sun. Doug’s Hobby Shop (California, MD), Don’s Hobby Shop (Salina, KS), and Smart Fly have all been kind enough to provide us with some cool raffle prizes as well. In addition, trophies will be awarded for First, Second, and Third places in each IMAC class. Directions to the flying field can be found at http://www.paxaero.com/field.php or just give me a call on my cell phone if you need assistance (301) 247-4440. Finally, if you need help with finding a place to stay, the following hotels should be able to assist: Sleep Inn- Ph: 301-737-0000 Patuxent Inn- Ph: 301-862-4100 Days Inn- 301-863-6666 If not, just give me a call and I’ll find you a place. Look forward to seeing you all in a few days. Regards, Troy |

I got off work early and I am heading to the field to see if I can fly a straight line with the JTEC. See you all there. Brian Last edited by FAVO; 10-10-2008 at 02:49 PM. Reason: Can't spell |
