Default NE Region IMAC Area!!!

Hey Northeast Region IMAC pilots, we now have our own designated forum area for discussions and such. I had talked with Joe B. at the Masters about possibly revamping the NE Region site, and I hope that this will be a great area for NE Region members to come togethor and chat about whats goin on in the region. I know we have a bunch of NE members here on the Giants.... so now that winter is coming up fast... we have a good way to keep in touch until next season!

I might give it a shot next year. Problem is, I don't now where to start.

Is there another organization that I have to join and pay dues to in order to compete?

Where are trhe NE contests typically held? Is there any primers? Are there any judging classes etc.

What is the current NE IMAC Website name?

Thanks!

Great Questions Bob. We are currently working on a "new to IMAC" section for all guys interested in trying it.

Couple Quick things:

- You dont have to be an IMAC member to fly in a contest. If you want to give it a try, come on out.
- There are contests held in MD, PA, NY, ME, NH, VT, and soon CT. Most of the PA ones are right over the border of NY/NJ into PA (Milford PA, Del-Water Gap, PA, and Allentown, PA) and one in Brooklyn, NY.
- You DONT need a big airplane to compete. If you want to fly Basic, you can fly whatever you want. No limitations (within AMA guidelines)
- Its all about fun, everyone is there to help you. There is no pressure. If you have questions, ask.
- I believe there is a judging seminar in the works for the NE region.

Any other questions, dont hesitate to fire away.

Hopefully two in CT next year Brian. Dont have to run a 3 blade prop, but will need Cans at the Salem contest on anything over 80cc. Where you live, the Milford, PA contest is less than 2 hours away for you, same with Brooklyn NY and Del-Water Gap, PA, and hopefully 2 in CT next year.

They need to have more contest in the lower region of the NE. S.Jersey , Maryland, SE Pennslyvania. I'd love to do IMAC but cannot see driving up to Maine or Conn. to compete.

Ya just need to suck it up and drive ! you can cross 7 states here in the NE and still not cover the distance across one state in the midwest. We have it easy!

Actually, Most of the contests are in Eastern PA. Maine is definetly a haul from where you are, but thats only one contest along with the one in NH, thats only two. the NY contest is 1.5 hours from Philly, and the one in CT is under 3 from Philly. Not bad at all if you ask me. We are always looking for new clubs and areas to host IMAC events. Believe me, if you have a club thats willing to let us run a contest there and give them the proceeds, we will come!!!!

John, I talked to the folks at farmington about hosting last year and they are open to the idea. Only one flightline though.
