Default Any info about El Paso, Tx?

Well.... wife just came to me and said there is discussion about being relocated to El Paso....

Absolutly nothing concrete, just that there is an opportunity there....

Any one know anything about the area

First thing I looked up is the local club!
http://www.eprcflyers.com/

Second thing I figured out is the distance to Tucson for the TAS....

Now that I have the important stuff done, I want to start researching areas to live and schools..

Any one know anything about the area? Areas to look at for homes, maybe with a couple acres?
What areas should I not even look at?

Anyone have anything?

Thanks in advance
A slightly Freaked out Exeter

There are two types of days out there, Cold and Windy or Hotter than Hell and Windy. Hope you like dust and no trees. Not much IMO. Some people love it. There is an IMAC in March. Ussally draws the guys from Tuscon and New Mexico. Doug Garcia has lived there for ever. He is the CD of the IMAC. You might want to get ahold of him to help you with the area questions. I know I trust my fellow airplane brothers to tell you the need to know info!! Like the closest sub division to the flying feild. JD

Windy? If you are here from the 10th of March or so until April 20 or so, you'll experience some of the nastiest dust storms ever.. If by chance there is no wind on one of those days in March/April - you'll experience the nicest weather ever.. Other than that, our weather is great here.

I live in the Upper Valley and I can be in Tucson in 4 hours flat. It's an easy drive and I am looking forward to driving out to watch the TAS in 2007.

I fly at the "SOD FARM". It's a large sod farm about 5 minutes from my house that offers plenty of grass and area to fly. The owners of the farm have worked with the flyers for years and welcome us with open arms. All that is asked is that you keep vehicles off the grass and leave it cleaner than when you got there.

I just sent you a private email..
