I'd have to agree with Biff on this one .....the edge is more of a 3D platform, although it does fly precision....it doesn't do as well as the extra, the 260 and the 300 especially fly well.....just my 2 cents

is it the swept leading edge on the extra that makes it better for precision?

Havnt flown a big edge yet but After flying Extras for a while and now my 44% Giles I would say the Giles is better then both. JMO please dont kill me LOL.

If memory serves me correctly, of all the planes i saw on the 2005 Tuscon Shootout DVD, none of them were Edge's. They were mostly Extra's and Yak's. So that tells me that they would be able to do the precision maneuvers better. I have a soft spot for Extra's....got 2 of them..a 50cc and a 100cc. Love the 100cc Extra and i'm hoping the 50cc will impress equally.

Extra 260 would be the best, then the 300S would be second. The 300L is good for 3D, but not as precise due to the lower wing location. With me as the pilot, none of them fly very precise...

Have to agree with the above, the Extras just fly better. Go to any contest and you will be hard pressed to find an Edge (great 3D platform). Odd, because in full size the Edge is at the top of the stack?
