Giants, I have two DA-50 engines...one that has a muffler equipped for smoke and one that is not..both are slimline. There is a brass coil within the one outfitted for smoke, but I'm also aware that you can tap regular mufflers to make smoke as well. How successful are these regular mufflers for making smoke w/o this coil in there? I'm thinking about giving it a shot with my non-smoke muffler and seeing how it works. -Brad |

There is absolutely no need whatsoever for a muffler smoke coil in a gasser muffler. It's a great way to charge more for the muffler, though. Install a nipple on the muffler near where the muffler connects to the engine. Just to the outside edge the mounting flange and you'll have great smoke.
