Default FlyingGiants Keyboard Deathmatch!!

DING DING DING!! Laaaaadies and gentlemen, welcome to The FLYING GIANTS DEATHMATCH!! Contestants will use their knowledge, and command of the English Language and battle it out on topics of each individual's expertise. This is a battle of intellect!

Two men enter the THREAD-O-DEATH, and ONE man leaves. This is a fight to THE FINISH!!

This week's contestants:

THE JUDGE vs KRISW aka "DEMIGOD".

Topic to be discussed:

Composite vs wood airframes: Performance considerations for advanced IMAC flight, and applied thermodynamics.

Ground rules:

- Deathmatch competitors will start out with a demur stating their opinion on the topic prior to engaging in responses
- Members in the audience cannot share their opinions on the topic, but may cheer on their favorite competitor, and throw fuel on the fire where necessary
- In true FlyingGiants Style, show respect to all parties - posts may be nuked at will. Keep it fun.
- Staff will decide when the deathmatch comes to a close. Members will vote on the winner at that point. No voting before.
- Staff may add new discussions to the topic at any time, as necessary, or by recommendation by members.

At the end of the deathmatch, the loosing party will have to wear an avatar designed by the winning party for a period of time decided later on. The winner will also recieve a FlyingGiants Bag-O-Swag for their efforts, and a coveted FlyingGiants mention on The Best of The Giants page stating hilighting their champion Internet battling skills.

With that,

LET'S GET IT ON!!!

As Bill and Kris make it to the ring, let's shoot it up to Stacey for a tale of the tape!

This promises to be an epic right out of the gate!! We've got these two combatants with styles that should give the other a tough bout!!

Enter Kris "DEMIGOD" W. A Marine turned unofficial spokes model for BME engines. Kris's never say die disregard for physics and full frontal asualt to challenges, make him a very tough guy to duke it out with in the cyber battle arena.

Look for Kris to come out of the gate with a fake to Einstein! I look for Kris to challenge E=MC2 right from the start then REALLY pile it on from there! Somewhere in this classic battle, Kris will put 1 BME 115 Extreme in an Airbus 380 and claim "It flies SO much better than with those stupid heavy Rolls Royce POS's!! It doesn't matter how fast you go straight up as long as you keep going!!"

Bill "THE JUDGE" M. An intelect with writing skills and a caustic, in your face demeanor, AND THAT'S WITH HIS FAMILY DURING THANKSGIVING!!! Mis quote 1 figure, get one number in a calculation wrong, write 1 thing that can't be backed up and he's on you like a Pit bull with lock jaw!!!

I expect the Judge to come out questioning the BME tat Kris sports on his back. Next will be one of the Judges most famous tactics! He'll quote something or some fact by a made up scientist. If Kris doesn't counter (and quickly!) by calling Bill out on it,,,HE'S DOOMED!!!!

I eagerly wait for this one to get started. It promises to be the THRILLA IN MANILLA FOR OUR FIRST EVER BOUT!!

DING DING DING,,,,,,Ladies and gentlemen. Flying Giants proudly present the feature bout. HuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuLET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!!!

Well, I just only saw this in the last few minutes.

We all know that Wood is Good.
But let's be real here, Glass kicks A$$ !!

But even the best composite airframe will pay homage (that's a French word, it means to pay special respect or honor) to the position wood played in allowing us to get started in this wonderful hobby. Most of them use a bit of wood here and there just to remind us of our roots (that would be a pun - I KILL Me!!!). Without wood, there would be nothing worth winning with our glass slippers.

As we progress I will of course educate you all to the Ultimate superiority of composite construction, not just for biplanes, but for most everything you can think of. Stayed tuned.
