Flying Giants is a BAD WORD!!!

Giants,

I was just on RCU trying to post a link to a video I did of some flying yesterday and if you type in "FlyingGiants" inside of a thread or response to a thread on their site...it will replace it with asteriks. Kinda like what is done here with PROFANITY.

I didn't know "Flying Giants" was the equivalent of profanity??!!

Websites have banned words for many reasons. Profanity is only one of the reasons.

Yes I have noticed that too, and find it in extremely poor taste.
Our community is too small to have turf wars play out this way.

From an outsider's point of view, I can see why one might think this. But when you take a look from the inside, you will see countless hours of work, travel, significant financial investment, research, and relationship and community development to create something unique like we've built here on FG. IMO, which BTW co-incides with other's in our situation (RCU), it's not our job to help our competition reap the benefits from our hard work. Think about it.

Poor taste in my book is when a very small group of people who are fixated on making a name for themselves to the detriment of others cry foul and think they are owed something. We're experiencing success based on our own merit, not from the help of our competition. I don't blame RCU one bit for putting us in their bad word filter, they have every right to and should. No complaints here.
