Unhappy Prop Bitten

It was just a regular normal Saturday. I was bored and decided to go fly my foamie. I flew around made a few laps then landed. After a few flights I noticed the EZ connector had come loose and was letting the rudder move freely on the plane. So, I took out the screw driver and starting tightening the little screw that keeps the pushrod in. Once I tightened it, I started moving the rudder stick while my plane was upside down and being hung by the tail. BIGGGG Mistake!!!!!!!!!!

As I was moving the rudder stick, I accidentally moved the throttle too!! The little park 450 roared to life and gave me 2 cuts on my leg. 2 and 3 inches long. SOOOOO MUCH PAIN! ARG!!!!!!! I had to go to the emergency room and get some stiches. But, lesson learned. Take off prop next time!!

Take the prop off, of if applicable, unplug 1 of the motor leads.

How 'bout this. Years ago i made the dumba** move of the century (won't even go into the details) O.S. 1.60FX on my CAP 232. End of my finger was hangin. The surgeon was awesome and it's as good as new. I can guarantee that one will never happen again. RESPECT THE AIRPLANE! (and most importantly the sharp spinny thing on the front)

I'm still nursing a finger that got beaten up real bad by a Saito 100 that was merely idling at the time (but swinging a big APC plastic meat-slicer).

After two months it's still twice the diameter of the same finger on the other hand, it's sore as hell in the cold and every time I bang it I utter a few rude words.

It's real easy to forget just how dangerous a spinning prop can be -- even an electric or quietly idling 4-stroke.

Yup, been there and done that. I joined the dumb--- club about five or six years ago. My index finger vs. OS 160. The emergency room took forever and the first shot of novicane was truly painful but the oxycodone made up for it. Still feels funny. Oh yeah, I have total respect for all spinny things now.

Oh, my memory sucks. It was a OS 90. Still hate the things.
