Default Charger Utopia

OK… after several years of slow acquisition, I have reached my happy place. This is where I stand:

Duratrax ICE… much better do-it-all charger than Triton… same company, but better software and more options, on-charger graphical display, etc… plus it’s cheap.

Thunder Power - 1010- Great LiPo charger, especially for high risk batteries when used with a balancer… will not let battery run away.

TP205V balancers x 2 – Use them on the batteries that are most out of balance.

Fromeco Ion Cube, fully loaded – King of the hill, can charge 5 batteries at once with data!

I also have a couple Sirius chargers but don’t really use them much anymore… I think they tend to miss peaks on the new gen of high discharge NiMh… I can set the ICE for ZEROPEAK and is never seems to miss, but if it does it has a temp probe to catch the problem early.

So, my typical night before flying:
-40% plugged into 2 ports of the Ion Cube and the ignition into the ICE (NiMh)
-Trex batteries – 3 plugged into ION Cube and 1 into TP-1010

It should be noted that I am charging 2 2S 5600 packs and 3 3S 2200 packs on the ION cube… that’s HUGE!!! I swear I can see the power meter on the house spinning!

Charger I wish I had: A123 seems to be the next big thing… keeping my eye out for a good charger for those.

Cheers Geek Squad

Default Re: Charger Utopia

You've already got it! Just go to the TP website and download the software update to your 1010C charger for A123 cells. You'll have to get the USB cable if you haven't already.
