I guess I got a little hot under the collar, as you do when you receive an attack on you club, I have no doubt that you have shead much blood sweat & tears over the years at working bees an the like, so you would defend your club when you see a uninformed attack on it. All eagle needed to do was to bring his consernes to the committee at the next meeting. Eagle did not give all the facts which lead to incorrect assumptions about the issues. I have deleated all except my first post, as they were not in the spirit of Aeromodeling and the forum, so to those I may have offended I appologise. But I do reserve the right to put forward the Facts as I have done in my first post. we do have a livley and progressive club, and I do encourage you to visit the site www.larcs.com.au. The land we use is a flood plain and the council use it as a turf farm and even with the membership as it is, most mornings there is a wait to fly due to the shear numbers on the flight line. See the pics on the LARCS forum and you can see the number of people there early. Zeroid

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | zeroid get ya moma to read my posts to you. Never did I attack larcs. I wanted to join the club, some of the reasons have been stated here. Every member I talked to besides the secetary were more than pleasant. I saluted and applauded other members who had the kahunas to object to the committee. I cant believe the best you people can come with is at a poor attempt at telling me off, calling am a nut and a liar .As the gauntlet has been thrown at my feet I shall proceed as such. I told everyone my name at tha meeting, if you missed it here it is, *******. I don’t hide from no one, nor do I ask anyone to fight my battles. I did not say, write nor am I was seeking legal help. I am man enough to fight my own battles. I suggest to you committee members peeking over your keyboard, put your tail between your legs and leave (I will assume you are committee members, as you are privy to the facts ). Unless you have the courage to say your name.I did not post this ugly situation on any forum looking for resolution, sympathy or to bad mouth anybody. I was merely venting my disgust at certain behaviour and asked if anyone else had been subject to it. If you are shamed by your behaviour, I don’t blame you, but I have no sympathy for you. I was raised to stand up and not to let others or myself be treated as such. You brought this attention to yourselves. Regarding omitted facts, lets put a spotlight on some of them. When I asked for a membership form before the meeting the secetary told me NO and they weren’t taking any new members as they had too many. It wasn’t matter-of-factly, he was quite emotional about it. The secretary pointed out that a member had to wait for two hour to get a fly. Was this because of the frequency he was on? Or he just doesn’t like to fly when others are flying? (Reminds me of those people who sit in the overtaking lane on the highway doin half the speed limit.)You fancy math is hardly applicable. Six members is the most I have seen there on any afternoon, Period. I wont be there at peak times. See yous on the week end Last edited by rcdart; 09-17-2007 at 08:00 AM. Reason: request by poster |

This thread has really backslid from a simple question to pretty near a shooting war. I have never been refused membership in any club( I am currently a member of 4 ) . I have found that if an individual has something to offer the club they will not hesitate to make him, or her, a member.

Ok gents, this seems to be getting a little bit personal and one on one, how about you sit down together in the lovely shed at LARCS, enjoy the serenity, share a cold drink and a sausage off the BBQ and take your beef with each other off line. I don't see a problem with the original question, but the to and fro does not need to be fought out here. Seems to me there might be a passive solution if talked out calmly at the club. Keep smiling and enjoy the site

a. The club membership voted for a cap. b. The committee was given the discretion to "invite" more members to join. ( the cap is 85, the membership is currently 112, I would say that they have been quite generous) c. "other" clubs have access to their respective fields for seven days per week. This club operates courtesy of a working turf farm. 2.5 days per week max. d. The club is not a council operated organisation, rather an incorporated entity, so whether a prospective member is a rate payer or not is immaterial. e. As far as I know, no one has been denied membership. Prospective members were told that they need to be invited to attend a number of club days (including free instruction) before being "invited" to join. Basically, it is up to the club membership to decide how many members the club should accept. The fact that the committee has "invited" as many extra members as it has is a sign that they are bending over backwards to assist prospective members. The fact that the club has, arguably, reached saturation point is not their fault. To summarize, The club decides how many members are accepted, committee discretion not withstanding. (can be changed at a general meeting) Membership is NOT closed. Prospective members need to organize an invitation from the committee. Whether a prospective member is a rate payer or not is immaterial. I hope that this ordinary member's perspective is of interest. Col Clark Real Name

Unfortunately this is not a "beef with each other" rather a beef between a prospective member and the club. It was the prospective member who brought the beef to this forum so you really cannot blame the members from replying in this forum, especially since the link to the original post was posted on the larcs forum. http://202.173.151.96/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2882 I have no beef with the discussion, anywhere ,of the pros and cons of the club cap, as long as the combatants get the facts right. Please forgive my intrusion into this forum in order to give both sides of the story. Col PS. Glad you think the humble shed is "lovely". I would have called it adequate.

Its sucks that so many clubs are ran by old school numptys that are (Jobs worths) "cant do that, thats more than my jobs worth" Folks who should be wearing a yellow saftey jacket directing traffic and handing out parking tickets . My buddie spoke to my local clubs secretary yesterday about joining. Lol The dreaded waiting list kak was spouted by the fag its such a power trip on the behalf of the elite in any club to look down their nose and scoff at a newbie. The 3D flyer has got em on the run. Were a hated bunch by the English warbird anal brigade Give it another 10 years and all the muppets will be gone and the future's 3D heaven. |
