FG MEMBERS FUNDRAISER FOR CHILDREN OF FALLEN SOLDIERS

WKFG had a great point in his PM to me. Here's a re-cap of the initial post...

Goal: To make a large, one-time donation to The Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund in the name of the Flying Giants Members, mid-October.

How it will work:

In addition to the proceeds from the Roast of Mad Max at the Tucson Aerobatic Shootout, we launch this donation campaign through the use of a special Paypal account specifically set up for this drive, and by members mailing checks or money orders (no cash please) directly to me at the address I will provide below ***MADE OUT TO THE CHILDREN OF FALLEN SOLDIERS RELIEF FUND***. October 15th will be the last day to donate/send in checks.

After all the checks and Paypal deposits are in, I will:

• Transfer the Paypal money to a bank account I have set up for this drive
• Deposit the cash raised at the Tucson Aerobatic Shootout into the same account
• Get a bank check made out to the charity, for the transferred and deposited amounts, minus any fees
• Combine this check with all the mailed in checks
• I send all the checks and money orders to The Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund via FedEx (signature required) along with a letter about who we are and a list of donors

Accountability:

First off, if you don’t feel comfortable donating to this online fundraiser, please don’t. For those that feel like it’s a good deal, here’s what I’ll do to make sure everything is in the open for all to see.

As checks or money orders come in, I will log them into an Excel Spreadsheet with name and amount donated. As Paypal donations come in, I will cut and paste the list of donors and amounts into another spreadsheet. Periodically I will post a running total of donations received. At the conclusion of this effort, I will post the letter to the charity and a list of all those who donated (if you wish to remain anonymous, please tell me).

Note: I will not post a list of donors and amounts on this site, only a running total. The list of donors and amounts are for my tracking only.

However, if someone donates $100.00 or more, they shall be hailed publicly in this thread!

Come on guy's there is just know reason not to donate. I mean a couple of bucks for such a great cause... This is for the people of our country who have paid a dear price for our freedoms. Can you imagine a kid getting a gift of thanks from a stranger, or a mother that needs a little cash because her husband died in war. That's what this is about. So maybe you put off buying that extra servo for a week to show some support for these awesome HERO'S! P.S. if you can read this and still not give, then you SUCK monkey butt!
