A single 8711 would be perfect. You CAN use a single 5955, seen it, flown it, it's plenty, but I would go with the 8711 for sure. It's not much more and well worth the extra torque. I would use one myself if they were out when I bought my yak, but I have what I have and it works great even after beating the snot out of it and throwing in one, rough on the tail, inverted landing. Still kickin! when I decide to get a new one, it'll have an 8711 on the rudder.

I want to try a 8711 to see if I can tell the diffrence,I had 2-8611a's ganged and changed to 1 5955 and I could not tell the diffrence. Hopfully it won't implode on itself after anouther 6 mounths of use. The Hitec marketing vicepres and a senior tech from hitec are members at my clud and have assured me the servo can easily handle this kind of abuse Tests: 8711@6.0v stall344oz 4.5 amps
5955@6v stall333oz 4.2amps
I'm thinkin I probably won't be able to tell the difference.

How do you figure I am dreaming? The plane should finish around 18 with stock gear.
So with the mods and CF goodies, etc this plane will finish around 16. Still in the bag I am waiting to weigh my individual airframe parts. If it weighs in at; say, 9 lbs I should have a plane just under 17. If i DO decideide to get plans and hole saw, I can, and will. achieve 16 pounds on this plane

One 5955 will work but no rudder authority at all. If you put two then you will know what i am talking about. I posted a thread about this topic and others have noticed the same things i have. That rudder is bigger than most 35%ers. Put another 5955 i bet you will feel a difference!!!

I'll just remove the wings then and go from there : ). You watch, come spring; it will be very close to my target mark.
Just as an example; http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/Lighter.htm
It can be done if close attention to detail is payed. Over 5 lbs. was saved from this plane. I understand different fuse etc can modded in different ways, yeah. But let'sjust sit back and see what happens.
Otherwise back to this great thread and lets see some progress. All my electronics and goodies were shipped on Wednesday so hoping to see them tomorrow but most likely Monday.

Not doubting your abilities at all. I expect mine to be heavy because i am running a smoke system,2 receiver packs and three regs,2 rudder servos, vitual cockpit and pilot. That is why i went all carbon fiber to help a little with the weight. Keep us posted. Looking forward to all the pics. I know you will hit your target weight.

I disagree that is a hugh rudder. Bigger than most 35%ers. One 5955 is not enough. I run two. I do have pics posted in other threads on how i did it.
You are out of your mind.
One 5955 or 8711 is all you need.
If you like to add weight and waste money more power to ya.
