Hmmmm. That is pretty vague. I mean is it ground round? Ground chuck? Hell it might even be cooked already in which case is't texture would be much more ridgid as opposed to uncooked beef. Speaking of beef, is it beef? I mean it could be turkey burger, pork burger even vegie burger. Don't even get me started on the treadmill. Your thoughts?? |

WHole wheat white or sesame seed bun? They all have different movement characteristics... condiments? etc?

Hamburger on a treadmill, is not very interesting. The gravitational pull of the earth and the large surface area of the burger create enough friction to cause it to remain stationary in relationship to the belt and end up moving with the belt in its direction of movement. This of couse only happens until the belt curles under the rear roller and thus breaking the bond between burger and belt and it ends up on the floor directly behind th treadmill. This of course is only tru with conventional burgers. Ass Burers are a completly different animal and think that subject should be left to our resident expert Mr. Ass Snap-A- Surus. Ass Burger after all is what the A in Snap-A_Surus stands for. See we learn something new every day !

Interesting topic. While the aerodynamics features of a hamburger are minimal, there are ways to accomplish the task at hand. Now, there are variables. For instance, square hamburgers vs. round ones. Personally I've had greater success with square hamburgers as opposed to the round ones. Why? The straight leading edge of the hamburger is closer, aerodynamically speaking, to my Edge 540's wing, thus I feel that there is a greater flight potential. The next variable is the size of the hamburger. While the Wendy's quarter pounder's are good and light, they don't have the burger area that the 15 pound "Beer Barrel Belly Buster" has. All this comes into play when the burger hits the treadmill. There are two different ways to find out the burger's velocity in relation to the speed of the treadmill: Verticle and Horizontal In the verticle position, the square burger finds it's handicap. The square LE provides excellent snap characteristics.(unlike the Edge 540) However, foward motion is handicapped by the friction. Whereas the round burger doesn't have as much friction due to the small part of the burger actually touching the treadmill. In the horizontal position, the round burger finds it's handicap as it tends to snap and crash on takeoff. Why? the curved LE provides an uneven airflow over the burger, thus the square burger far outshines the round one. Now, other variables can include types of bread, types of meat from which the hamburger's are created, condiments, size of the treadmill, etc. |

This being my first post on this fine forum, I must interject the KE capabilities of the burger patty with and with out the bun. Furthermore, as it relates to a treadmill - if you could get the treadmill mill up to the proper speed [very fast] and rolled the burger onto the treadmill in a KE attitude, it may actually travel a significant distance that could be measured with the treadmill's onboard telemetry. While not having tested this theory since I was 3 years old, I seem to remember that without the bun and given the proper trajectory the round burger will actually fly quite well if properly launched. THe bun was simply more ammunition to launch at the opposing team. Thank you, Scott |

this is something I would expect from shortbus!! in my opinion , the hamburger is only as good as the creator due to the infanate variabes involved in making such "burger". it is my choice that since the burger has no cheese (or it would be called a cheeseburger) it has been made by a self concious creator who wishes to use such "burger" to feed his/her craving for meat while trying to reduce the calories of spoken burger by using a treadmill. I peronally would not advise the consumption of such "burger" while performing aerobic activities on a treadmill.... Discuss??
