Hello Guys, I need someone to answer a question for me. I have a Hangar 9 Funtana 100X. OS 120 FSIII Slimline pitts muffler (with smoke) Hitec 5945's all around Hitec hs81mg throttle 5c 2000ma hydramax Nimh 6v receiver Battery 16 oz. smoke tank TME deluxe electric smoke pump 4c 2000ma hydramax Nimh 4.8 battery for smoke pump Tru Turn spinner OK,OK, Now the question.....What would be the best make and size prop for MY application? I fly limited 3D, mostly just normal flyin around, but I am learning to fly more and more 3D stuff. I had a OS 1.08 with slimline muff (no smoke) at first until the firewall came unglued at 300 feet over alfalfa field and never did find the motor. I actually bought the OS FS120III for this plane but when i saw that I had to cut more than an inch off the firewall I opted for the OS 1.08 . but since my firewall came off I decided to cut it back and install the OS 120FSIII I had a APC 16X4W on the 1.08..will this prop work on the FS 120? The OS 1.08 did not have enough mid range touque for 3D anyway. I am not here to start a prop war, just some good advise. Thanks guys. Doug |

I've used APC 16x4W and APC 16x6.I have the 120 Surpass E on my X100 ,no pump. Its just enough at sea level. I used a JFX 16x6 wood prop and it is much better for response and low end kick.My 120 is a bit lazy with the the heavy APC. Yours has a bit more power,so either APC props should work. I would omit the smoke system, thats alot of excess cargo. If you want to fly 3d you will likely have to take that out.It will hinder in the post stall moves. That 16x4W was way too much for the 108 |

Nitrowing, Thanks for the reply, I thought that the 16x4w for the 1.08 was overkill , OS instructions call for a 15x8 or a 16x6 on the 1.08. thats why I went for the 16x4w I did not want a Funtana x100 going 120mph ...but the 16x4w made her rip anyway..I did not get much of a chance to try other props since my firewall let loose after less that a dozen flights. THX again Doug |

Nitro, Did that done that!!!!, also I got rid of the broken carbon fiber landing gear and replaced it with a 120 size aluminum gear....also replaced the cheap and weak tail gear with an Ohio Superstar tail gear. |

Is that the ticket for the tail gear because mine has been driving me nuts.

the tail gear that comes with th H9 Funtata x100 is IMO a flimsy wire. I take off and land on grass and the slight bumping causes the stock tailgear to bend up against the bottom of the rudder....the Ohio Superstar tailgear is spring steel with springs to attach to the rudders control horns..you will need to get a double control horn to use this gear the springs also will put alot less strain on the rudder servo. |

I put a sullivan tailgear on it.Its easy ,but I think the product is poor, the bushing wears very fast and has lots of sideplay.I have 3 Sullivan tailwheels, all with the same results, but its adequate for the X100.
