Dreaded question from the wife!

I just got the dreaded question from my wife that I get about once a year, "Do you know how much you spent on planes the last two months!" "Why, no honey. I calmly replied, knowing full well to the penny how much! "Who do you think they are going to vote off idol this week", I said, desperately trying to change the subject. It never works. "Well you spent $,$$$, do you know that would have paid off the Harley!" "Well yes, I guess it would, but I am getting my AW Yak 54 ready, remember, I showed it to you last week, and I am having the Triplane built by Brent, you know he has to feed his kids." So the conversation went for about 10 minutes, as I agreed to slow down a little, knowing Toledo is just around the corner.

Joking aside, my wife is pretty cool about my addiction. Although she does have to reel me in once and awhile.

A buddy of mine just got a DUI. I tell my wife its still cheaper than drinking in the long run. Just my .02

I tell her it's still less money than other hobbies, such as golf, a ski boat, hot rod cars, etc.

She knows I enjoy it, so she doesn't mind too much.

So far none have worked. My wondeful wife ( i am serious) of 23 years is a shopper. If only she had a vice other than shopping. When she goes shopping all day she finds some SERIOUS bargains. Shirts that were $75.00 marked down to $20.00 plus this coupon or that and it comes to $3.00 for the shirt. She can go all day and only spend $75.00. That's not even one servo!

Maybe i should get her to buy all my airplane stuff?

Sell the Harley and live longer or eliminate those inevitable medical bills that come with the Harley. That will free up more funds for models

My wife is always trying to get me to spend more on my airplanes, in fact on life in general. I like to see how little I can spend each month. She has a competition horse hobby that costs a lot more than my planes, so she never complains. Hell, the cost of one horse is more that I've spent on this entire hobby. I'm my own limiting factor, I guess I'm stupid, tight, or both. LOL!

That makes you very smart, with a happy wife!!

My wife is very supportive of my hobby and doesn't complain too much about the money spent. She does complain a little when I go away for those 3-4 day events. Eight days at the NALL, here I come!!!!
