Default Build your own pilot head!

Well, I got the idea from CSpaced's dash build. I built one on my own, and then thought, "why stop there?". So here goes.

First, I start by getting my foam parts. (foam egg+block)

Then, I pinned the 2 parts together just as a rough fit. I put the canopy over the head and torso to get a rough idea of how it will look. Hmmmm. Looks like it's to tall? So, I gotta shave each part down to fit. The bottom of the foam egg (head) should be shaved down anyway to simulate a neck.

Now that the parts have been shaved to fit, it is time to shape the torso to simulate the shoulders. Fill any imperfections with light weight spackle. After that, I shaved all the edges to a curve.

Once that is done, I do another test fit in the canopy.

Now that it all fits, it's time to glue the head to the torso. I use hot glue, just for preference. Since all that is done now, you can paint it and decorate it. (I have yet to paint mine)

If you promise not to put that into your plane, I'll promise to work diligently on getting rid of the pilot and panel rule.
