Okay, here's my dillema: I just bought a Futaba 6EAX "6 channeL" controller on the 72mhz band. I think i ordered it on channel 46 or something. Anyway, I have two airplanes I just bought that I want to control with this new awesome controller. The two planes are: Parkzone T-28 Trojan RTF and a Hobbic Piper Cub RTF Of course, these two planes are on the 72mhz spectrum but on different "channels". I was told I could just buy new crystals for these things to match the one in my futaba controller.. However, I was told their are two different brands of crystals.. Jr crystals and Berg ??? How do I know which crystal to buy for my planes? Also, if they sell crystals for my planes that DO NOT come in the channel I need them to be, do I have to then replace the airplanes receiver?? Also, if I have to replace any of the receivers with a Futaba one, do I have to reprogram them? Okay, that was like 10 questions in one.. So please bare with me, I'm a noob! |

Here are a couple of links to the source for your receivers. You can order your correct crystal from them, then the only question is are they Positive or Negative shift. I have not found any way to determine that. http://www.towerhobbies.com/rtfplane...os/hcaa24.html Hobbico Cub http://www.redrockethobbies.com/Park..._p/pkz4351.htm Park Zone T28 Good Luck Ernie

If you look at the tech notes for the Hobbico Cub, they sell Crystals. Contact Red Rocket Hobbies and ask if they can get a crystal for a RA672 receiver. |

A JR reciever (in north america) won't work with a Futaba transmitter unless its marked as "shift selectable" there is one or two that are, most aren't.

Thank you for the feedback.. guess my last question is.. are their any cheap, reliable receivers out there that are Futaba knock-offs? It sounds like my parkzone plane will need a new receiver that will support a "high band" crystal.. Does Hitec make good reliable stuff? Futaba is just too pricey for me...

Good Morning JJuneau I really like the Hitec Receivers, for planes like you're using I use the Hitec Micro 05S which is inexpensive full range light and you can use two channels for ailerons as opposed to splitting one channel. This is a single conversion, Full Range and auto shift (it can be used with either positve or negative shift) http://www.hitecrcd.com/receivers/show?name=Micro+05S Here is the link to the specs. PS. Shop around, you can find these for $20.00 if you look around! Best Regards Ernie |
