With that being said, I have two brand new planes to maiden next weekend -- a CompARF Extra 260 (35%) and a Lanier Extra 330 (33%).
Can you post a post flight report on your Lanier? Also, will you be filming the flights? I have the Lanier Yak and Extra 33% and cannot find video of those birds anywhere.

I have maidened a bunch of planes for others. I get much more nervous test flying someone elses plane than my own.

What is fun is test flying for Oklahoma State's Engineering department. You get to fly new designs that are usually way outside the box of what a normal RC guy gets to fly. Sometimes they work and sometimes they need "adjustments."

True. Here is a video showing before and after "adjustments." To simplfy the rules for '07 was the plane had to fit in a 4'x2'x2' box. Your score was partially based on assembly time out of the box, these fit without assembly so that raised the score and also the shorter your wing span the higher your score. Not very often do you get to 11lb planes, with required payload, that have a 2 foot wingspan. Take-off was 100% power, cruise was 80% power, approach was 60% power, and you bump the throttle up to about 70%.

NOT !! I've flown "bricks" in 30mph gusting winds when no one else bothered to even show up at the field. And after a looonnng lay off I refuse to "get a trainer and learn again".

Some one else will maiden my new trainer the DawgHouse Yak. And yes could ya trim it please ? Get 'er up high and flyin' straight and after ya hand me the Tx hang kinda close ?

Landing ? I'm GREAT at landing. No fear there what so ever. Just gettin' the dang thing around the first few circuits. Never crashed landing, or I should say on approach !! BUT I've lost a few flying back when I was moving along at a rate a little faster maybe than my learning curve.

I have a trunk monkey who maidens my ships. He's fearless with nerves of steal. If the plane crashes I can just blame it on him. He's also handy for the carpool lane.

Zoomer,
I cant beleive what Im reading. Actually, I can. It's all gud. On low rates, the dawg is quite gentle. Turn up the rates and it will bite you in the arse if your not careful.

Tru that!!!!!! I fly on full rates lately all the time now, not using them for landing or takeoff- but if you get jumpy or nervous, it will let you know in a heartbeat!!!!
