Wich company do you think has a better reputation, and possibly the better plane, (I'm talking about the 50cc planes here). I did have a BME edge 540 VIII on order but I cancelled after I caught wind of the Aeroworks Yak-54. Now I'm confused all over again.......damnit. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

You can spend days thinking about this. You will hear great things about one from one guy, and bad things about the same plane from some one else. Pick the one that YOU like and do research. What ever one really appeals to you, go with. As long as its one of the know brands, (AM, BME, Comp Arf, Planes Plus, Wild HAir.......and many more you know) you won't go wrong. Too many planes, too many opinions, gotta go with the one your truly like. personally I would wait till after Toledo on April 7th. Pile of new stuff to sort through after that weekend.

I have talked to Max from BME, I ordered a Edge from him. Service has been great. BME is a great company to deal with. I would not hesitate to order from them again.Bruce

service of getting the plane is equal to other companys such as wild hare but if a part is bad like landing gear getting a replacement is like getting free money from the USA government took 3 plus phone calls and a lot of arguing to get a defective landing gear replaced His arguement was it can be fixed by me to work although it will work it wont look good/look bad there fore it is fine and he doesnt need to do any thing about it he to help his arguement of me keeping and using a defective landing gear he said when its in the air it wont effect flight lol You pay for a plane thet comes with gear the gear should be free from defect. theres a lot in the middle this story but i wont go any further after 3 to 4 week of twisting his arm to make this right he is giving a smal refund that will go to a good after market gear. im not saying he wont fix a prob i am saying he wont fix a prob unless you make him. with a lot of your time and energy used up to do so. Mean while a plane will sit many weeks. When some thing like this happend with a Wild hare plane Tom asked me if i would fix it and i told him that i didnt want to fix the prob and didnt think i should on a new plane and he fixed/replace the prob with no other effort or energy wasted by me the customer that is what i expect from any product in every day live. |

Only ones that are bordering fraud will not provide survice to verifiable defect. One can separate a good one from a bad by noting if a company will play a 20 questions with your bad part or not. If you trip on any of the 20 questions, they will say, that's why it failed or bad and so on. One should not feel he or she is treading a mine field when trying to get a service for a defective part. On a part that borders good/bad, a good comany will lean toward bad and vise versa. |

I dont see this company being around for the long haul unless some big changes happen Its to bad tho the plane is top notch so far and light. Only minor shipping dmg on the rest of the plane i cant really think of any thing wrong with the plane except the companys unwillingness to fix or replace a defective part very much the anti Desert Aircraft |

GUYS... I understand gripes.. but lets try to keep it to PM's. This hobby has enough flaming involved in it. Every story has different views. I'm not saying that you are wrong, so please don't take it that way. But this is not why the FG site is here. He was asking about different airframes. Everyone has different opinions. I know 3 guys who LOVE thier BME edges and have had zero problems. So opinions are cool, but lets not flame here.

| Sleepy i don’t feel there is any undo flaming here just some facts i did say it was a great plane so far and all only told the story of service after it was brought up All this may not be Max s fault it may be his business partner AKA wife but that’s how things went and those are the reasons i wont be going at any more BME planes that is of course if they are not completely above the others planes but they will have to be a good deal better for me to get brand new planes from them. If the plane gets to you with no defects then you will probably never see this but it does happen. If it keeps happening it will cause them to lose to much just for the person who may be getting one of these i think it is second best 50 cc yak next to EF but i have no exp with Aviation models 50 cc yak. Even if it second to that plane 3rd in the whole 50 cc yak market isn’t bad this is all pre flight info by the way things may change once we get it in the air a squared away. |

I was more afraid of where the thread might go. Not where it was.... You guys handled your selfs like gentlemen.. I applaud you. As for the YAk.. it was a pretty low res image. The logo I can get pretty nice and Hi res.. but the YAk Pict was like 72dpi.. sorry.

Do a search on the aviation Models 30% yak (formerly toc1) Lots of info on the giants on it. I would give you my opinion but I am slightly biased and would rather you hear what others think.
