Have basement, garage, spare bedroom with plane(s) stuff in all of 'em. Still use the dining room table.

I'll stick to my two-car heated garage thank you. Just open the door and load up the car! Works great!!

The shop has cars in it no planes. Over spray wreaks havoc on covering. My side of the garage has planes in it. All 1800 sq feet of basement is my workshop for planes. But I was upstairs using the dining room table Sunday night. Why I don't know. Maybe that big table with nothing on it is just to tempting to resist.

I agree... down south here in NC, basements aren't the norm either. The wifey and I wanted one though... and it worked out great.

Mine's split with a true, subterranean man cave (finished with couch, HD TV) and then the other half is the "shop", with double door walk out.

I have to say... the walk out is and will be a requirement for future houses.

Nice work sleepy.

I live on a giant sandbar A.K.A. Florida! We have no basements here, well at least none that I know of. Anyway, I live in an apartment so the dining room table is the building table. At least the dining room and living room aren't divided so I can watch MY 62" HD TV while I build no matter what the wife says!!!!!

I'm with Snaproll, basements are for people who need "winter build projects".

In Flaariduh, we fly all year round!! I do love my "Manroom" tho, 20x20 detached block building, it's own meter w/ 200amp service, and a two car garage door. Nelon and Joyner can both attest to the fact women are only allowed in for cleaning or beer delivery. Unfortunately, the mosquitos in the summer are large enough to fall in love with a 42%'er & have their way with it.

If/when we move up north, a walk out basement is a must.

I just sold my house that had a basement and my very own 16' X 12' model airplane shop. It was great and I feel for you guys building on kitchen tables and such. That stinks to have to put everything away, then back out and on and on. I am about to begin construction on my new dream shop, but I will not post pictures till it is done.

Who put's anything away ? The plane resides in the garage at the moment but the build table that rests on top of the dining room table remains. My basement is too short, about 6 foot and my garage is a single 15'x20' and is full of too much junk.

My wife was kind enough to clean it up enough that I can store the most current plane and still use all the garage stuff, lawnmower, weedie, tiller, table saw etc. Maybe she was attempting to get her dining room table back ? Ha !

I left a plane on the kitchen table once.
I never saw it again.
I still don't know what happened to it, but my wife says she has no idea...

DAMN.. Hmmmm it was a nice electric EF yak... I had almost forgot about it.

Thats it... there's gonna be an argument tonight!!
