I just bolted my DA 170 up to my Aviaiton Models 40% Yak and got 4 flights today. All I can say is WOW!!! It is like a different airplane. My DA 150 pulled it around OK, but it is like a different airplane. STRONG uplines and pull out from hover is effortless. Tached at 6000 rpm the 3rd flight with a Menz 32x10, JTec mufflers on Lawnboy 32:1. The extra 300 RPM felt like 1000. Much different kind of pull. Engine is a total animal....imagine it will be insane once broken and on Amsoil. Thanks DA, it was worth the wait Craig |

I had the same feeling when I switched to a 170. Here is a clip of the 170 hovering, it never got over 30% throttle. Its a Jtec 40%er. I made the tuned cans and headers. With the mens 32x10 I'm getting 6370 rpm on the ground. Only at the end of the knife edge did I open it up, listen to the left over power! |

Craig that is good to hear! I bought a 40% yak from chief but have problems with the cowl. The cowl is 4 mm to small in diameter. I called chief but I am getting the run around. If you have a extra cowl could you tell me the diameter of it. I need to know if the cowl is bad or the fuselage. Thanks Pete
