We have Both at our field, As long as each style has equal time ,for the most part there is harmony. At times there is an issue of safety and we just remind everyone to do their thing out away from the pits, Tony Bananno is our Safety Officer and does a fine job.

What ever turns you on as long as we do it with caution.

Rob
The reason I did not go this year was because last year we had issues with the CD, they are virtually against any 3D flying, even a knife edge harrier was not allowed and considered dangerous but I did it anyway, flying in circles was preferred, the previous year a large twin warbird pilot lost orientation and crashed in the pits, luckily he hit an empty spot and serious injuries were avoided, I guess that is what they like. I choose to go to IRCHA over this event, a bunch of us flyers with 40% and one 50% didn't go.

I really wanted to go to this fly in too, but had heard the CD is a true &%$$*. I know Steve went because he is good friends with Tony, but the rest of the guys in our club with big girds refuse to attend this event. It is a shame, because the fly ins can be so much fun when everyone is welcomed and treated as a guest instead of an outcast. Craig

ROB! GLAD TO HEAR YOU WERE ABLE TO MEET SOME GUYS FROM THE SITE, THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT. HOPEFULLY SUPERFLYJAY SHOW YOU HIS SALAMI? LOL!

Sorry, gotta type in caps whenever his name comes up... Bummer on the continued controversy between the circle huckers and the 3D crowd. It's getting better, I can promise you that. Be glad that Elie wasn't there either..... or I'm guessin' there would have been a brawl. Hey, at least you made some new friends, thanks for sharing the story.

Being a big fan of 3D aerobatics, attending the Chenego Bridge fly-in was a pleasure ( even with my buddy Jay there, btw patty says " hi " ) . It was run with competence and safety was the main concern . One thing that must be kept in mind is, unless it is a 3D meet or competition, there are other types of planes and pilots with other interests in attendance so rules must be followed . One rule is the runway must be kept clear and for the most part that's what was done at C-Bridge . At the Dist. II Mini-fest our flight-line officers kept the runway open and 3D ( which was welcomed ) was done over the grass on the other side of the runway . We allowed demonstration flights with one or two 3D capable planes over the runway and everyone enjoyed it . Keep in mind we all love to fly Radio-controlled aircraft and any line drawn in the sand hurts not just us but the sport .

Stinger, I was at your event and feel it was one of the best run events I have attended. You welcomed everybody, every type of aircraft and every style of flying. Everything from giant aerobats, helis, cubs, warbirds, etc flew often at the same time without one mishap or verbal altercation that I saw. Your event was also one of the safest events I have ever been to also with the flight line being well controlled at all times. And yes, there was 3D flying!
My point is that yes, everyone can get along.....but the event must be run correctly for it to happen. I hope that Chenango is getting better as it is an event I would love to attend, but I avoided due to its past history. Craig
