In my last year of pattern I burnt $600.00 on glow fuel and I was mixing raw not pre mix .

Now in IMAC I have gone through 144 litres in six months and that works out at 41 US gallons OF PETROL . It works out at about 1 litre for every 10 min flight so there has been something like 150 flights in that time .

lol thats nothing guys, we have a guy at our field, who flys everyday , and he has for 20years, and he flies anywhere from 4-12flights an evening. Running regular saito 100 with 14oz tanks on all of his planes. Calculate that up.

I flew pattern in 70s, I was flying in a contest with Dave Brown who was the world and national pattern champion, I asked him how many hours a week he praticed, he said he did not go by hours but how many gallons of fuel he used and so far he had used 50 gallons and it was only the middle of august, and no I was not flying in his class.

A buddy and I got into flying last summer up here in Mn. and our flying season is probably shorter than chicago's. But we would burn through about 2-3 gallons each a day on the weekends. You guys only putting up 4 flights, thats just a teaser. I never kept track exactly how many flights we put up but it was a lot. Any way if you figure 5 gallons a weekend (I am not counting any of the weekday flights)20 weekends that is a hundo apiece for the summer. We did do alot of night flying also if you think we didn't have enough day light to do this. We figured we spend 100 dollars a night in the bar we might as well spend it on something else. But I am going to have all gas and electrics by next summer. To save some ching.
