FGVC Votes?

I have a question about the video voting, I have watched the videos and agree there is some unbelievable flying and video editing going on.
But my question is why do I have to vote for 5 different videos?
If I like 3 videos say, and they are far better than the rest (Just an example here) why should the votes I cast for the #4, 5 videos that aren't as well done get the same number of votes from me, that is saying they were all the same in quality and style............not true, so it kind of makes the 3, I thought were above the rest get the same vote value,..............Just don't seem fair to me.

I think it would have been done better to rate them as #1 thru #5 in value.

Really nice idea i like it, but this year contest is almost over, this ranking method may be used only next year.

Yeah, I know it's kinda late for voting rule changes, but it doesn't seem fair for everyone you vote for to get the same score in votes. I thought something like a point system could be in place in the future. Something like:

1st= 5pts
2nd=4pts
3rd=3pts
4th=2pts
5th=1pt

Then you could really see who's video most people preferred................Just a suggestion.

But to be fair this year I will just have to say to ALL, Nice job,........not fair to blanket vote,....IMO

And I would like to say too all who participated, THANKS! I really enjoyed watching them all!

Nice thought, but a little late to the game......

I'm happy with the way my vids come out and I had a great time making them, but I know there are some seriously creative vids which outclassed mine by a mile..... regardless of the way the voting was done..... : )

I think you have a great suggestion for next year, but there is nothing worse than asking for changes in the rules while the game is in play......

The method behind my madness with the voting system is to avoid blowouts, and ballot stuffing. The contestants put a ton of time and effort into the videos, and IMO folks will probably actually watch all of the videos as opposed to reading threads in this forum, and only actually only watch 3. I'm no pro on K factors, and other uber complicated scoring methodologies, but this seemed to make the most sense in my mind. Next year we can totally try your system, right now it's a little too late.

Hey Max, In no way shape or form was it my intension to change the voting rules way after the start of the contest.
It was just my observation that the best of the best would have the same vote power as one of a little less entertainment value. So my view was TOTALLY for next years judging,..........not try to get people upset it was just a suggestion for the future (which I stated) but some didn't see that part I guess.

But I love the contest, really shows a lot of imagination and video skills that still blow me away.
So to everyone who entered, "GREAT JOB" and again thanks for your time and effort!
