No problem guys. That's the way it goes sometimes. I've already modified my judges matrix.
You just making it easier on the rest of us.

Hey, if you decide or find you can still make, we'll have room for sure.

Just got home...posted the following on the IMAC site.

After a 6 hour drive, Sherry and I arrived on Friday to a blustery flying field with a strong crosswind out of the south. With reports of continueing poor weather, I decided to get in a couple of practice flights (no fun). Fortunately the weather gods were looking out for us and put the weather guessers to shame. The skies were clear Saturday and Sunday, and we had only slight winds both days and had a wonderful time.

Greg Boswell did a great job at CD'ing his first contest, learned a lot, and committed to continue to put on this contest. Pensacola has nice weather this time of year, has a nice field for IMAC, and has a very hospitable host club. The BBQ dinner Saturday evening was second to none. The ribs fell off the bone and were seasoned perfectly and the beans were unbelievable!

As for the flying, we had a lone advanced pilot (me) who managed to come home with a first place finish. We had Kurtis Waites and Bobby Hawthorne battling it out in intermediate and Kurtis went home with a first place finish. In Sportsman, we had three competitors with Wes Batson taking home the win. Basic was the largest class with eight pilots competing and after a close fought battle, Marie Batson took the top spot. Word is there was less than 50 points separating the top three pilots and only seven points between one and two.

There were a few newbies that seem to have been hooked (at least I hope so). I had a great time hanging with the folks from the western part of our region and can't wait to do it again.

Many thanks to Sharon Waites for keeping score and posting results almost immediately!! Also thanks to all of the volunteers who made this contest run smoothly.

Kevin

Cool write up Kevin, thanks.
I was very fortuante to be surrounded by good people all weekend. Everyone worked their rear off to help me out. Just another day at the flying field for me really.

I don't know if everyone heard Tommy Wilson (no relation?) our club prez about building larger covered patios at each end of the field so we can back up and keep our big gassers out of the sun all weekend. Plus they will get wired for electricity so we can wrench on stuff at night. Looks like this is going to happen over the next several weeks.

Funny, we have this killer field and there are only 4 of us flying IMAC in Basic and Sportsman at our field. Next nearest pilots are Wes and Marie Batson about 45 minutes away in Alabama. Kind of spread out in this part of the region.
The Alabama crew has some really talented pilots. Freestyle and IMAC, they are tough to beat and fun to watch.

Later,
Greg
