hi guys. i think im gonna show up. this will be my first IMAC, but i did fly in the '09 youth masters at the triple tree. can someone just kinda give me the ins and outs of what its gonna be like, and i hear that in "basic" class you can fly what you want, so i was wondering if I could just bring my funtana 100 or if i had to roll the 40% yak out of the hangar.

Well, since this is your first IMAC then you are required to bring the 40% without a doubt ![]() But, we'll still let you fly if you only wish to bring the Funtana ![]() All kidding aside, you can fly anything in Basic. If I had a 40%, that is what I'd fly, but looking at your age, I assume you are at the mercy of someone else doing the driving, so it will be understood. The Funtana will be fine and you will have a blast, I promise. We will have a pretty relaxed atmosphere, no worries there, but I am planning to ramp it up for a brief time so that pilots like you, me and the rest of the Basic crew can get a feel for how things are going to be expected to run at one of the larger events. When you have 40 to 50 pilots at an event, it becomes an issue of timing and flow and flying two lines in order for everyone to get in 3 rounds. I hope we'll have at least 20 people and so it will be a little less hurried and we can spend time with the pilots that are new to IMAC and get everyone up to speed more easily. If I can answer any other questions, ask away. You are welcome to call me too. Later, Greg (850) 433-8245 |

Hi Bobby, I expect this will be a good event for all the pilots. Looking at the roster so far, I have flown with most everyone and I know a couple of the pilots that haven't been to Judging school have been judging for a while. I even have one young lady that went to judging school with us, yet she doesn't fly. This IMAC is going to be a great opportunity for a lot of us to get some good experience we wouldn't otherwise. I have been informed that I will receive my Contest Director Card soon. I have also been infromed by our Contest Coordinator, Dick Tonan that my application for the Sanction number is approved and so should be receiving the number soon too. I really appreciate all the help everyone is given me to get this one done. Really looking forward to it. |

Hey Greg - I'm coming.......getting home from California on Tues and leaving Little Rock Fri for Pensacola. No practice for two weeks so take it easy on me. Talked my girl into coming so I won't have to bother you guys about calling for me. Your job is to guarantee great weather and no crosswind! See you guys there Jack |

What??!!! No crosswind? I don't think I have ever been to a contest with light winds up and down the runway. Im not sure it will be possible to fly IMAC without wind correction.![]() Seriously, I am looking forward to this one. We had a blast last year. Does anyone know if Wes and Marie Batson will be coming? Kevin |

You don't have to buy awards for the unlimited class if no one is signed up for it just be sure you offer it and if you get an unlimited pilot to show up you can always have the award made up and mail it to them afterwards that way you are not spending money on awards that you will have to throw away.

I will check with Wes and Marie about flying. Pretty certain they are planning to fly with us. I'm looking forward to it. Wes does an awesome freestyle. They are both great people to be around. The whole Deadplane Flying crew is great. Greg | ||||||||||||||||||

That's the sign of a great CD Greg.....great weather and we don't have to worry about losing points for the wrong rudder! BTW, I talked to the Batsons and Nathan K. when we were in Jackson, and they said they're going to try to make it. |

Cool! The freestyle is looking better and better every day. Parker G from Jax is signed up and he pulls some killer moves, Nathan does some incredible manuevers, Wes is no slouch either. I'm trying to convince Scott to do a freestyle bit. He's thinking about it. So, you'll bring your new plane? Look forward to meeting your "girl" Going to have to round everyone up Friday night for an Outback dinner. |
