I've been checking the weather for the weekend most days. Currently it shows:

Saturday: High 47 degrees, wind 11mph (not too bad)

Sunday: High 45 degrees and windy, 22mph (not so much....)

If this is the case we might want to consider making sure we fly on Saturday... it will be much more enjoyable not to mention more comfortable..... 22mph wind will make that chill factor drop.

I'll be driving down early Saturday and will see you at the field.

Dave

OMG! Brief Hysteria! My *%@#!?* DVD player corrupted the entire memory card of the day, rendering the data briefly useless. But a squeeze of the wallet and a few scary minutes later I was able to recover them. Gimmee a good nights sleep and the eye-candy of the day will appear. Great job guys. Fun and educational day.

Special Thanks to Mr. Huntsinger! Kent and his dad showed great hospitality! Ty Lyman, Dave Micheal, and Pete Castine delivered tons of knowledge and experience to 15 starved pilots.(Not hungry for food, The Flying Wood Butchers Buffet was plenty filling). Donuts and pastries with good coffee! Kent sprang for lunch, the grill was fired and Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs were served. I was really impressed with the progress of the beginning IMAC pilots by the end of the day. Despite the cold weather the Frozen Toes Northern IMAC Boot Camp Day one is complete without incident. Looking forward to SlowHucks pictures! Stay tuned for day 2.

Kent P., thanks for calling for me on my second sequence today. That helped me a lot.

Also, thanks to Ty, Dave and Pete for helping all of us who are just starting the straight line stuff. Today was very educational to say the least.

And thanks to Kent H. and Jerry for letting us use the field to fly, these guys are great hosts. I too am looking forward to flying tomorrow, even in the wind.

See you guys at the field.

I want to thank Mr. Huntsinger, Dave, Pete, Josh, Ty, and everyone that helped put this together. It would have been worth paying $50 for the opprotunity to learn and fellowship this weekend allowed, but it was FREE! I look forward to doing this again.

Here they are guys. Took me a while to edit, adjust, crop and caption. Let me know if I got anything wrong. PM me and I'll make the edits.

Rodney Mothersbaugh braves the early morning frost for a quick trim flight.

The pits in front of the barn, heavy with frost, starts to fill.

Ty Lyman introduces our Primary host and the owner of the magnificent flying site, Jerry Huntsinger.

Kent Huntsinger strains his brain memorizing the basic sequence from the boot camp's handout.

Ty Explains Aresti symbology.

Ty demonstrates maneuvers referenced in the sequences with his stick plane.

Dave Michaels leads a round of self-introductions.

Ty and Dave. Ty is ready to whack anyone caught napping.

The heater in the back of the barn was full-bore, but most still struggled to stay warm.

Early preparations in the pits.

Kyle Stewart finishes up the prep on his Extra. Dig the silly hat!

The pits are busy in front of the barn, and look, no more frost.

The windsock announces a steady crosswind for the beginning of practice. Good training factor for maintaining the flight line.

Dave Michaels slides a stab onto his Extra.

Pete Castine, Advanced Pilot, caller and Judge, with his Aerotech 45% Yak 54.

Dave Michael, Unlimited Pilot, Caller and Judge, with his Comp-ARF 3 meter Extra 300.

Dave lets the ZDZ Super 160 warm a bit before flight.

Pride Grimm, Basic, with his Carden 35% Extra 330.

Mike Dinu, Basic, with his Wild Hare Extra 300LX.

Ty delivers a maneuver-by-maneuver critique of Pride's sequence.

Rodney Mothersbaugh, Basic, and his Wild Hare Edge 540T.

Toney Williams, Basic, and his Wild Hare Extra 300S.

Todd Beard, Basic, and his Wild Hare CAP 232.

Pete Costine calls for Toney Williams.

Kent Huntsinger, Basic, and Co-host of the Event, with his kit-built FiberLite Edge 540.

Jamie Turner, Basic, and his Carden Extra 330.

Kent Porter, Sportsman, and his Radiowave Extra 300S (Futaba and 3W, damnit!)

A brief intermission for a trip to the Flyin Woodbutcher's Breakfast Buffet.

Alex Porter, Sportsman, and his PlanesPlus 34% Extra 330.

Josh Dunn, Sportsman, and his Carden 40% Extra 330.

Pete Costine takes off for another practice flight.

Kent Huntsinger has something special for Ty Lyman to fly sequence.

ESC achieves tone while Ty tingles with anticipation.

Caller says, "Um... I don't think this is the symbol for hover!"

Students look on in astonishment as Ty departs from straight line flight.

Bob Richards and his son Matt, both Sportsman pilots, and their Hanger9 Extra 260.

Kyle Stewart zero's out his sequence by following his hovering Extra across the runway. Mr. Huntsinger's beautiful home in the background. Nice front yard, heh?

Kyle Stewart, Intermediate, and his Hurley Extra 300.

Our host, Jerry Hunsinger gathers evidence for later use.
