Yeah, same here. I'm probably not going to be flying much this year, but I expect I will be asked to judge. That is the main reason I want to attend. Of course, I'll be there just because Matt isn't old enough to drive yet.

Just FYI - Wayne has announced a judging school held in Augusta GA on March 3/4 2007. We will be graciously hosted by the Trenton Radio Control Association <http://www.flytrca.org/> whose field we will be using for the Sunday's
Practical Judging session. The Judging School will be held at Double
Tree Augusta, in Augusta Georgia & we will be setting up a web-page
shortly with the reservations information for both the Hotel & also the
classes.

There will be two (2) segments in the classes on Saturday which will
have a "break-away" session for an Advanced class & the regular class
for participants who have not been to a Judging School previously. As
mentioned above, Sunday will entail practical judging experience in the
fine art of judging.

If you really want to hone your judging skills, this seminar would be the place to do it. I think Ty's concept was more of a flying seminar - trimming, working on geometry of figures, points deductions, etc. Ty, is that what you had in mind? Maybe post a tentative agenda?

Pete

Thanks Pete, yes this is a flying focused event. There certainly will be some judging concepts addressed as in order score well it is imperative that one know what the judges are looking for, however, we will be talking and practicing concepts for flying in scale aerobatics competition.
Some basic items on the agenda:
Airplane trimming and setup, Fundementals (lines & geometry, etc.), Calling technique, Practice techniques / methods, Unknowns, Wind correction, Knowns, and anything else relevant we have time for.

Pete and Dave, I'll be in touch with you guys shortly .
t
Also, to reiterate Pete's original reply, the SE Regional Judging School has been set for March 3,4 in Augusta GA. Even if you're a seasoned judge it's important to attend as there are rules changes that go into effect this year, and there is not one among us who can't benefit from a refresher to sharpen our skills.

Sharpen skills. Yes! And do not forget your favorite foam. Night flying in the back parking lot after class. Great Time! We will have a blast as usual.

Ty, I see that you mentioned working on some unknowns. Will you actually have some unknown sequences there for us or what?

Ty, this just occuerd to me. My dad and I won't have an airplane to fly up there, but I know that someone will let us use one of their's. Kent P, will you bring something up for us please?( Don't mean to sound sort of pushy here).
