Hey Marty,
As Kent said, don't worry. Even if you don't do any flying - and I'm sure we can prevent that from happening - there is a lot that can be learned from pure info standpoint. "No plane" isn't gettin ya off the hook.

FWB,
Any room for a RV at your site? Also could you post nearest lodging. Will not need to be the swankiest of places. Just a place to SSS.

Yep, we will bring the 260. Flew it some more this past weekend, after I re-rigged the throttle linkage and worked on the carb (to get a reliable idle-shutoff). It will get Matt through the sequence just fine. (Just!).

If the air is calm, he can fly the Aspera.

BTW, which of the hotels is a good CHEAP ONE to stay at???

A Few details about Big Jerry's RC Airport that FWB has yet to share...

I've flown there by invitation a few times and the accomodations/hospatality are without match. Step one foot into FWB's barn and you know you have entered the diggs of one with the sickness, GIANT AIRPLANES EVERYWHERE. The barn would sleep all fifteen particapants (and their full families) so long as you don't mind lots o' basla dust and a few barking spiders in the morning. Ample parking on the grounds. Paved roads to get you there. Great spot to hold a class as long as FWB moves the tractor.

The runway is smooth, short grass, running E/W. Shelter on the North side. I foresee most folks crossing the runway from the shelter to fly as the sun slaps your face from the South otherwise. Generous approaches and plenty of open field within the treelines. Off runway is a little rough, but easily usable in an emergency. Kent mentioned to me this weekend that he might rent a light system for the foamy night flying (he certainly wanted one this Sunday as he found his groove with his new Byp Yak).

I'm volunteering my services as the event photographer. So brush your teeth and comb your hair (if ya got it), and no, there will be no make-up artist available. Sounds like it will be a fun time, and I look forward to meeting everyone.

Attached is an edited Google map showing layout and directions from Rt 54 (England St - exit to west) and I-95:

Damn Les, good post, you covered all bases. If someone is looking for accomidations, be sure to use Ashland VA. There are some fairly nice places there to stay. I should have Ty's old Carden Extra 330 in the air by then, it can act as the donor plane. So those who can't bring their own, will have something to fly.
Be sure to bring the foamys for the "after the sun goes down show".
Jamie
