The container with the Vanquish has been on the water for about 2 weeks. They should be here around March 10th, along with more of the 88 inch Yaks. At this time we are only producing the color scheme shown. |

Gentlemen, The FMA 4S-2100 packs were coming out of the plane right at 140 degrees F after 7 minute flights. FMA says that is the temp that starts to degrade the packs as far as life cycle goes, so I decided to try something different. I made up a paralleling plug and flew the plane this morning with both packs paralleled (electrically and physically!!). After the flight, the packs were only 104 degrees F, The speed control was 120F, and the motor was about 115F. I hooked up the Eagletree to one of the batteries, and you can see it only drew 19.5 amps on initial takeoff / fresh batteries, and about 17 amps at the peaks throughout the flight. When I got home the CellPro charger "fuel gauge" read 20% remaining charge in both packs. I did not notice any difference in the flight characteristics of the plane due to the extra weight. If anything, the verticals seemed to take less throttle; a little less than half. I also carried a little extra speed on final approach in case the weight affected the landing, but don't think that will be a factor on future flights. I'm sure if you decided to 3D this configuration you would notice the difference, but at pattern speeds I couldn't tell the difference between one pack and two. All up weight of the airplane is 2lb. 8oz. with one pack, and 6.8oz. more with the second pack. Edit - I just tested this setup with an APC 12 x 6E prop. 840 Watts and 50 amps on the ground at WOT (ESC is good to 45 amps). Extremeflight recommends 500 watts, so I'm sure this will definately make it jump.
