What are you guys working on for the 2007 season?

All I have to do is get some batteries for my Brio.

Hi Jon,
When it clears Customs... I'll be working on an Oxai Astral XXc. Should be available tomorrow, ready for a x-mas break build-fest. Should say "assembly-fest" actually - I've built 2 Oxai Pinnacles previously, and they go together really quickly. Absolutely superb!
She'll have a YS160DZ up front, short Hatori muffler, JR servos and a Futaba G3 rx. Fromeco LiIo pack and Powerbox regulator.
Should be in the air mid-Jan at the latest.
Cheers,
Paul

Clean up and maintenance on the the FOCUS II. I also have Dave Guerin building a new Brio for me. He had a good one left from his private stock. Interestingly enough, the FOCUS II was also the last one he had in his own stock prior to the re-introduction...

Still flying the El Nino, but I will be recovering and cleaning up Archie Staffords old Mantis. It will be getting my YS 140L and the FZ will stay in the El Nino.

At least one Temptation powered by a Mintor 1.70. Hopefully I will have two Temptations built before the season starts, but most likely that won't happen due to time. I didn't want to do this, but it looks like my trusty old USA Star will be my back up for 2007. Hopefully I won't need it, and if so, only for half the year. I plan on having both Temptations flying by the Nats.

My dad and I will be flying either a 3dhobbyshop.com aspera or an OMP fusion in a couple of pattern contests.

HI All,

After 3 full seasons of flying the Aggressor I'm switching to the Black Magic VF3 from Mike at www.customairframes.com . Mike has done his homework and I think we will have a world class flying plane, and it is certainly jumping-off from a fantastic start in the V2 model. Prototype #1 is being built now and it will be flying mid-end of January 07..... stay tuned......

Thanks,
Jim W.

I'll be flying I believe the last Brio out of Piedmont's stock. I got it right after the Don Lowe Masters, it's the fiberglass version. I plan on powering it with one of my OS 1.40 EFI's and probably converting the other to an RX just in case. My Partner will have backup duties this year. If all goes well, I'll hopefully have something new towards the end of the year. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to '07.

And what's the deal on the BMv3? Mike must be pretty tight lipped about this one, I've not heard him mention it. Is it the v2 with the changes he reccomended for the F sequence or something different altogether?

Matt, where is the Aspera on that website? I can't seem to find it- I've not heard of one prior to your mentioning them and was curious as to what they looked like. I hope to see you at some contests this year. I know you probably don't need any help since you've got your dad, but should you need any, let me know.

Ryan, the aspera that we have is a prototype. He originally was going to release them a while back but when he sent us one we told him a couple of things that were wrong, so he is holding them back to get all of the kinks out. They do fly really well though, no coupling in knife edge.

Okay guys' don't laugh at me...
But I'm going to build a Midwest Mach 1. Most likley put an O.S. 6o in it. Pretty basic I know, but fun. It was always a dream of mine when I was a kid, but I could never afford such a "big expensive" plane.
Mike Stokes gave this kit to me a few years ago with the promise that I build it one day. Well, that day is coming this winter.
One day...when i figure out the pattern stuff and whats the right plane to have; I'll do a modern plane. I just have no idea what.
