HI Guys, Not a lot more done. The throttle servo mount and rudder servo mount is done. At this point I'm going to swap to wing/stab servo trays, sanding, and monocoting. The firewall is installed too far forward to use my Budd mount. If I use it, the motor will be more than 0.25" sticking out from the nose of the plane. What Hyde mount is better than the AR80? When I ran the AR80 I couldn't keep a header on the engine. What mount is a bit stiffer than that one? Or, if someone happens to have an extra PassPort firewall laying around they could trace for me I'll consider knocking out this one and installing a new one. Anyone with a firewall they can trace, scan, and email it to me? Nothing is simple right? Here are a few pictures of the rudder servo tray. Then entire radio bay is now boxed-in with formers and it is VERY STIFF. This is at least as stiff as my Osmose was throughout this same area so I'm confident the plane is going to hold together nicely. The wing adjuster area of installation doesn't flex at all. The forward pin area doesn't flex, so I think this will be good. Thanks, Jim

I hope you guys like this airplane. I am good friends with Chip and Todd Blose, and we all fly pass ports. I love mine very much, and I actually won the cajun nationals last weekend which was our district championsship for D6. I took 1st in Advanced an am the 2008 D6 Advanced district Champion. You can see my pass port on my avatar. My pass port does have the side winglets on it now, but that day I took the picture I didn't have them on. Matt |

Jim, The Passport is looking great so far! Matt, It looks from your Avitar that your Passport is electric powered. If so, what motor/battery package are you using? What are your flight times? |

Hi Matt - congratulations on your win! I have high hopes for my plane. I'll wring it out for sure and report back what I find with my plane. What type of mix numbers are you using? Thanks, Jim

Hi Tuny! Please post your pictures here as you go along. If you can, please scan and email the firewall image to jim.woodward@baesystems.com I would really appreciate it. If you can do this, I'll just nock out the original firewall and install this new one set for the Budd mount. Thanks!! JIm

Thanks Tuny. I think about .25" in front of the leading edge of the wing tube is where I'm going to start. Thanks, Jim

Jim, Have you considered a Hyde ARA or an AR mount? Also, if I'm not mistaken, he makes different versions of the new universal mounts, like the AR-80. I think there is like an AR-70, AR-75, etc. |
