Oh yes I know the one you've got, which motor did you select as I have just started running in an MLD 28 gassa and I've gotta tell you this is a pretty sweet motor, good power and easy on the wallet.

its a great looking plane, but a paint to build.. the field set up will suck.. the wing strut skrews go inside the fuse alll the way on the bottom.. i have a thread in the nitro forum, smoken kat has a nice set up and mine will look similar minus the twin on the nose i am using a magnum 91 4 s, soon to install the electro dynamic onboard glow
mike
ps, the hubs have now been paint matched professonally

Yet another glider maiden today. Only got the one tow in due to crappy weather and visibility issues.

Hope to get some clear blue skies in the near future so we can get a good day of towing in.

Some more pics

Hey that plane looks familiar!!! Mine is quite different overall but the shape suggest they might have been cousins in a past life!!

And the best part is that it 3D's well!!

Very quiet in here lately. No one doing any thermal work? Our big tug has just been sold so it looks like the diablo will get some good air time while the hotts replacment is built.

What are some tips you can share about driving the tug? I'm planning on putting a tow release/ hook in the plane in the above picture (Hotts look a like) and starting to work on tugging. Any tips for placement of the tow release?? On the CG or??

Thanks for any info!

Tug release/hook placement needs to be as close to the CG as possible but no further aft than the trailing edge of the wing.

I think the main thing as a tug pilot is to talk to the glider pilot before the tow about what you are about to do. Are we flying circuits? are we climbing straight out? who's going where at the release point? Also talk to them during the tow. Ask if the climb angle is ok, announce any turns before you commence them. Also try to keep an eye on the glider as well. You need to be ready to release if things get out of hand.

By kiting do you mean the side to side oscilation of the glider behind the tug?
