Here is a photo of the HUsky tow release. It was homemade. A servo pulls the music wire down to release the towline. I put the wire on an inside hole on the servo to get more pulling power as it only has to move the distance of the cutout to release. The entire assembly with the servo is mounted to a 1/8 inch plywood plate that is attached to fuselage former around the center of the wing. Here are the photos looking at the outside and from inside looking aft.

Going out to the field tomorrow for some scale glider flying. I'll be the tug pilot but I'll take some pics of our setups and possibly get someone to take some video.

Had a good day at the field today.

Arrived at the field to see some nasty dark clouds looming, and as soon as I pulled the tug out of the trailer down came the rain. We then spent the next 90min waiting for the rain to clear. Once it did the planes went together and we got stuck into it.

We only had two gliders to tow one of which was only a 3.5m and the other a 5.5m ASW28. We put the small glider behind the small electric tug (which I forgot to take pics of) and did a series of tows about 20-25min appart as there was some lift around.

We then wheeled out the big glider and tug and took them up for a spin. We didn't get quite as many flights in due to the rain but it was a good day anyway.

We didn't attemp any fancy towing this time as it's been a while since we have done any towing. we just climbed out at about 50-60 degrees straight down the strip into the wind. Hopefully next time I can talk the glider pilots into attempting some turns.

Here's a few pics of the yoke setup on the big tug and some of the ASW28

I also got the Missus to take some video but she only got the electric tug.

Sounds good andy. Can you get someone to take some pics and post them here or will they be on your clubs website?
