this is a venture my club is going to try this year as well, and it seems im the only one with any clue,, you must atach the tow point on the tow plane at the trailing edge of the wing,, or at cg,, most folks see fullscalers towing from the tail, this will not work on models,, the gliders will need a release inthe nose,, theres many ways to set this up,, big trainers, telemasters that are over powered are the preferd tow plane but most high wing planes that have the power can,, useing a tow line around 60 ft long, with a section of bungee to be a shock absorter,, also a streamer on the end of the tow line to keep a pull on the line after the release is good idea,, i will try and find some pics for you, if you have questions just ask

Hello,

I have been using a 1/3 scale Spacewalker with a Zenoah G62 for power. I built a post right behind the "pilots" head on top of the turtle deck. This is where I attach the line for towing. I can release the glider in case they cannot by flipping a switch on my transmitter. The Spacewalker is a big teddy bear that flies well but to be honest, after you do this for a while, you want more power for the tug. We are now using tow planes with 100cc engines and bigger. This allows the tow plane to climb up at a sharp angle with little or no turns needed before the glider is at a good release height.

well those of us at our field that want to do this venture are each putting something in so i bought a zenoah g38 and now we are trying to figure out what plane to wrap around this motor. amd mike we know how to set up the planes. we just cant figure out what plane to use for the tow. i was leaning to a 1/4 scale cub or something along that line. but like i say none of us have done this.
