Ok, now that the event is over and I can take a moment to do this right.

Sam,

Here is my take on the AMA Convention:

First, I got to meet JeeUm. You are a class act dude. It was great meeting and hanging with you and I look forward to the next time.

Then there was the hanging out with litterally thousands of people that share the same interest that I have. How great is that?

I got to see people that I only get to see acouple of times a year and catch up with what they have been doing. Rocco, Dave Johnson and crew, John Vance, Dave Sullivan, Bob Richey just to name a few, great to see all of you.

After hours hanging with the FG crew is alway a blast. (looks like I escaped getting tagged once again)

and finally,

Getting to see the latest and greatest new products from our favorite suppliers of our hobby habbit.

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of all of this.

I have to disagree with sweetpea. Although you are correct on many of the dealers not attending, some of the show prices were great. If you would have looked close enough, you would have found Spectrum for sale at MTA and Soaring USA. I look at it this way. I can either gripe about how the show could have been better or I can enjoy my local AMA Convention that ventures into town ONCE a year. Although I had to work my booth the 3 days, I spent as much time as I could talking to buddies I see once a year and soaking up all the show has to offer. I think the show was excellent. The vendors whom chose not to participate has nothing to do with AMA. Lets face it, the market for our hobby is not the greatest. I walked the show floors each days for 4 days straight. By Sunday, I still could not get enough. I can see and talk to the same guys all over again. I appreciate AMA for still putting on this event. I have been involved with this show since the age of 5. Back when it was in Pasadena. I was 5 and watched a red electric fly indoors while spotters ateach corner of the convention yelled "TURN" for the indoor flight demo. I built and flew AMA tissue paper covered rubberband planes each year. I knew a few of the guys from the Blacksheep Squadron by name. Times change and the show has changed. Neverless, I still enjoy my time at the AMA Convention each year like a 7 year old on Christmas Eve. I thank AMA for keeping with the show. We can say the show sucks or say it was awesome. I look at it like this, It was a show to my local city where I reside and pilot my aircrafts. For 3 days I see RC stuff until I'm dizzy! Need I say more and can I ask for more? NOPE! I loved the show. I loved it this year, last year 10 years ago and will continue to love it in 2008 to the future!
