ah ... because right now hacker has the A200 !!!
Power of a 150-200CC engine!!!

It's about the price of a DA 150 with canisters

I thought that was the engine...

If you were to add in the cost of the batteries and the controllers what would the "real" total cost for a system be?

The price I ment (1500€) is the price of engine + controller... so only the battery's left but! you don't need to buy fuel tanks, ignition battery etc...
AND you have an electric plane

Those aren't available in the US yet, but there was an A150 in a QQ 102"Yak out there that belonged to Jason Kraus. It had wicked power on a 12S and 29X12 Mejzlik, but was estimated to eat up 200 amps with that setup - OUCH!

I shudder to think how much the batteries would cost for a 40% plane. I investigated the cost to go electric with my 30% yak and the motor and esc were not that expensive......BUT the cost of a single battery for a single 12-15 minute flight was $600 (us). Since I don't like to fly once and then charge batteries all day I would have needed at least 3 $600 batteries just to be able to fly multiple times. Thats just a little too steep for me think I'll stay with gas for now.

Thats the problem.. the price. And the charge time.

Also, I got the $6000 price tag from an article in sport Flyer magazine.
They were talking about the 40% raven that was at the masters and it showed the battery pack , and it said $6000 US.. and from the amount of cells laying there i believe it. And I know that Marks Dalton takes just as many packs... so I would say $4000 - $6000 worth of batteries is very realistic.

THATS A LOT OF SCRATCH!!

Mark's Extra was flying on the Hacker Quad sytem. The Quad is four C50 Competition motors on a 6.9:1 gear drive. It also needs four MAS 90-Acro esc's and two 10S Lipo packs.

With the release of the New A100, A150, and A200 Hacker Outrunners, they will no longer be making the C50 Quad system.

The A100, A150 and A200's are proving to be more powerful than the quad and at about half of the cost. These outrunners will run on one esc and will require only 12-14S! Which also helps to keep the costs down.

We anticipate them being ready for shipment by March.

Best Regards,
