Help! Help With Futaba GV-1

I cant figure out how to set my governor to react faster when you turn it on or change the speed on it. it has a few second delay that slowly increases the speed. somehow on one i got it set up so that no matter where the throttle was it would turn on & it reacted instantly on the on/off & the speed change. i just dont know how to set this part of it up right i guess. im just trying to get rid of the delay on it so i hope someone can help me Thx.

There are two ways you can activate the governor, either by throttle stick position or a switch. However the governor will only turn on when at 70% or more of the set head speed. In other words, if you are just spooling up and turn the governor on it will not instantly speed up the head until you have reached 70% of the set head speed by yourself.

I am assuming you are using a switch? In which case if you are turning it on in flight and on one helicopter it reacts instantly and on the other it doesnt, assuming the GV-1's are setup the same, then I would suggest that one helicopter has a higher head speed than the other during normal flight when the GV-1 is turned off (the one that is reacting quicker).

I would go back to the two and compare settings, check that you have the correct gear ratio, look at what you have the head speeds set to etc.

There is a soft start in the GV-1 for the first time it is turned on.
This is done for people that have it set for stick switching so that you do not get a sudden power surge that could either spin the heli or take out the clutch.
For instance, if you are set for a headspeed of 2,000 RPM the GV-1 will take control at around 1,400 RPM. This is such a slow headspeed that the tail is not yet effective enough to hold the heli from doing a quick piro. Also the engine rpm is so low that the clutch does not have full holding power yet and could slip with the sudden power surge.

Once running it will change speeds as fast as your engine can spin it up.

I believe that there is an adjustment for this "feature" in the Super secret menu.
I will have to research this some more to refresh my memory.
