I went out to the field today with the PAU Edge and tried the straight down line and the plane holds is track. What I ended up doing was add a slight throttle to elevator mix and that solved the nose pitching up.

Is the mix on a switch? If it is always on, what does the plane do when you do the verticle downline now?

im wondering about your cg... if its hands off inverted that is usually pretty tail heavy. if you release the throttle and it pulls to canopy while slowing down that's cg. i don't think an upline and downline would show this.
the mix may fix it, my concern is that mix used in other situations... inverted, hovers, harriers etc...

He did say that when inverted it is almost hands off, so he is maintaining level flight while inverted by addng a bit of down elevator (not sure how much cause it depends on your definition of a bit).
Maybe moving the cg forward a bit, which means a little more down elevator while inverted, may correct the original problem. Something to try out and then recheck all the trims. I am a little worried about the throttle - elevator mix, even though it corrects the problem. It may cause some other flight issues and it may not.

What Papa Stek said. It's better the mechanically correct your plane instead of adding mixes.

I think I will agree that its a CG issue and that it may be a touch too tail heavy.
I removed the mix.

Almost every large Edge I have flown have this tendency. 33%-52%. A little down elevator mixed with extreme low throttle typically cure the problem but the rearward CG exaggerates the issue.

I agree on mechanically correcting your plane as much as possible before doing so with the Tx.
Let us know on what happens when you try moving the cg around.

I'm not an aeronautical engineer but here's my $0.02: In post 3 you said that it pitches towards the canopy a little in a vertical upline, which would normally mean that you need a little bit more downthrust, not less. If it balloons in level flight when you chop the throttle I would check the wing and stab incidence angles.

Thanks Norm I'll check that before going to the field tomorrow.
For some strange reason I see a 3D Hobbyshop AJ Slick 540 in the near future.
