Blade balancer

Just getting my MX400 ready for its first flight. I realize I need a blade balancer
can anyone make a suggestion on which on to get..

the align one is cheap, it also fits into the dubro prop balancer also.

A piece 0f 2mm threaded rod and a couple of 2mm nuts/w washers is all you'll ever need for an MX400, thread them on a rod, leading edge down, snug them so they don't move, balance on a cpl of coffee cups.

Cool.. and I'll balance across a pencil to find the CG.

Kroll Pro by miniature, expensive but very nice.

Kroll Pro is nice but very expensive. Helimax balancer looks like cheap plastic for around the
same price I think I'm going for the Century Accuratech.

I just got some align pro woodies and I couldn't find my align balancer. I cut down a 2mm bolt. That and a couple of nuts and plastic cups worked great. For the cog I used an exacto knife handle and couple nicads as guides. Uber cheap, worked fine.

Well I need to get her done. So I used a pencil to find the CG. Then I got some threaded
rod and a couple bolts and screwed the blades on the rod and balanced the blades in
my Dubro prop balancer. Worked like a charm. Then I went out and broke my Heli

You could also use the heli itself. Without the blades position the heli on its side at the edge of a table and make sure the head is balanced. Then bolt on the blades and balance away!

That method is ok as long as the motor is not engaged with main gear, the head needs to free rotate, and on most electrics that will be prevented by the main motor or one way bearing.
