Default antoher new guy

ok i been flying planes for awhile and have thinkin about a getting a Blade 400 3D PNP. this will be my first heli. i can fly the twin rotors and i can fly alot of the 3d helis on the sim pretty well. if i get this blade i use thinking about just makeing a heavy triang gear to help kept things slow. any thought are concerns of this blade??

also why is alum a upgrade for plasitc parts is it a speed thing

cool, another chopper guy
just my opinion=I do not care for the blade it dosent feel right to me but get what you like
remember practice, practice, practice! and dont let the heli intimidate you--like it did me
metal parts dont flex as much and there are a few other reasons, make pliot feel better, Bling, etc. etc.
opinion again=upgrades arent needed unless you are doing hardcore 3D but again get what you want or like
get a experianced heli pilot to help you it will make things much easier on you, your bird, and your wallet!

I would think that the heavy training gear is a bad idea. Keep it light, excess weight will only strain the electronics, battery , etc.

The idea behind training gear when starting out is to just get the heli light on the skids and start skitching it aroun to learn control. Keep the tail pointed at you!! If you get out of shape just chop the throttle, walk out, adjust the heli with the tail pointed at you and start over. Move it around, forward, back and side to side. Returning to your original starting point.

Once you feel you got it under control try taking it up in the air about a 6 inches or foot. Keep the tail pointed at you!!!

If your actually doing well on the sim all this should be quite easy. It's all about stick time...

Have Fun!!!

The Blade 400 is good (similar to the Esky Belt CP). I fly great (I have a Belt CP)

I have been flying big birds for a while I just got my first heli a Blade 400 3D about 2 weeks ago, for me it is great. I was hovering right out of the box, first flight. Once you get it trimmed in for hover it is rock solid. With a 2100 mili amp thunder power 15C battery I am getting about 10 mins of hover time. As others have said go slow but the blade is a good way to go. You can tame it down for learning then ramp it up as needed. Also parts for the blade are cheap and avaliable. Your other option is a T-Rex ( fantastic Heli) but if I am going to trash a learning heli I would rather crack up a blade than a T-Rex.
