I've flown RC planes for a couple years now, and have competed too against guys like Jason Noll and Sean McMurtry. Sure I got my butt beat, but I had fun and did a good job trying. I got me a Blade CP Pro a couple months ago and have had nothing but trouble with it. Forward flight is no problem, but hovering is impossible. The tail always spins to one side or another nearly uncontrollably. I slam the yaw (I don't know what the right term is) stick all the way over and it does nada for a second or so before it corrects, then it starts drifting back the other way and it's the same thing over again. Forward flights no problem. Heck, I can even do rolls and hammerheads no problem, but they're a LOT easier than hovering. I got the Pro thinking I could start off learing to hover inverted, but not when I can't even do a loop without the tail swinging around about 180* on me, causing a very quick and very necessary recovery. So what am I doing wrong? On the sim (G2 and G3) I can hover inverted and pyro flip like theres not tomorrow, but out on the real thing I can't even hover! I'm guessing it's with the heli, obviously. But what's the fix? I want to do loops and hover (preferably inverted, but for now right side up will do) the darned thing! Thanks! Ryan Oh yeah, it's stock, except for the CF blades. |

I got the Regular CP not the pro and it's very easy to hover and fly,,,out of the box,,,have you played wit hthe screws for the tail??? The GAIN Screw it's to keep the tail behind the heli whilke flying if y uhave it set to high the tail will be too twich from side to side and if it too low it will feel loose while you fly it. then you got the other screw the Proportonal Trimmer,,,this is only when hocering to keep the heli trimmed on the rudder so you can pretty much let the rudder go and it wont turn while hovering. Like I said this it's on the REGULAR BLADE CP,,I'm not sure about the pro but it might be the same. Hope that helps!!!! |

well remember it's a blade it's not going to fly like a big heli,,, when I first got mine i did a couple of loops and rools but that's was it I wouldn't do it again I don't think it's a very good 3D heli,,,it's fun to fly it wrround and staff but that's about it unles you are really good with the sticks and can 3D a Blade,,,I did fly a Guys Blade pro onece and it didn't even go close tom my regular blade Cp stability,,, you can tell by this video here!!!! this was a while back... http://whiteknuckleairlines.com/inde...2&key=13&hit=1 |

| I've ordered a new motor and prop for the tail, Nick Maxwell said that this was the number one improvement he made to his Blade, even more so than the head locking gyro, and he won the RCU micro heli cup. On another note, I took it out and did my first inverted hover for about 20 seconds earlier. That was a real treat. The inverted hover looked much better than the loops (go figure) and really wasn't too difficult. I've been practicing it on the sim, and since my planes are all down for a week while my TX gets worked on (and I just got the foamy I'm going to use for my competitions this winter!) I took it out back and just decided to go for it. Worked out quite well, but the battery was nearly dead by the time I got the balls to go for it so I only did it once. |

Not too shabby man! I have looped and rolled mine, but that is as close to upside down as I have gotten. My main motor is burned up right now so even hovering is weak at best. Once I get my new motor in it I want to start practicing backward flight on it. I can fly the raptor .50 backwards and inverted, just not 100% comfortable with it and I would much rather crack up the blade than the Raptor.. I'd like to see some video of the blade upside down if you have the means. |

If everything is Stock on your CPP, then it should last a while, but for a fully stock CP or CPP, the tail motor would give you more authority is it were a Direct Drive system. I fly a BCP, and I have had to remake everything so it's bullet proof because I live in the North Florida Jungle, and I had to learn how to fly around all these trees. I ended up building my CP so it could take a direct hit on a Tree without breaking, and the tail motor I'm using is a stock 370 brushed motor with a cut down pusher prop on a spinner. My tail boom is a solid fiberglass rod, and everything else has been built to last instead of having to replace everything every other flight. All my parts now last until damaged by a crash. I am still using the same 370 motor, and have been for some time now. I use a Hacker 4600kv brushless motor, and my main rotor blades are from my BlackHawk500. I cut them down to 10.5 inches, and the extra length makes it much easier to do almost anything I want with it. Also those blades are made a little different. The Leading edge of those blades are Birch, while the trailing edge is Balsa, so they will take a direct strike and not break. I should have cleaned my bench a little before this picture, but here is my battle hardened blade. |
