| Flyin' Around ![]() | Hi guys - just a small question. I have a Belt-cp ready to go but have no instructions. What would anyone recommend for the tail rotor pitch range ? Up to now I have flown out-of-the-box electric helis and they are all setup ! Thanks |

| Ohio Huckfest or BUST! ![]() | this can be tricky,, but on my belt cp, heres how it is, at no throttle, you should be set at 2-3 degrees positive( blows away from boom) this will counteract the torque. from there the end points you will need to tinker with, but you will need more positive throw and very little negetive( toward boom) if you have training gear that will allow it to spin on the ground this will help you find the sweet spot. i can get a pic if you need one enjoy this lil bird! mike

| Flyin' Around ![]() | Well - one step forward, two steps back ! Finally got around to trying to set the tail rotor pitches up after waiting for a new 0704A gyro (with head hold) as the one that came withthe heli was DOA. I have heard that the 0704A is sometimes challenging but has anyone had these experiences ? Plugging in the 3 wire plug (JR Ch4) AND the one wire plug (JR Ch7) as per the instructions - everything sems to go through the startup sequence and the blue led comes on.....but the tail servo doesn't move at all either when the stick or heli is moved. Unplug the 1 wire plug and this time, the servo v. slowly moves around, both forward and back and eventually ends up at either the front or rear end stop. If I move the heli left or right, the tail rotor servo does respond in the right way, as it does when I move the stick. What is really wierd is that it seems to behave in head hold mode without the one wire plug connected; that is, if you move the heli to one side, the servo moves to correct the movement and stays at the position moved to until the heli is moved back to where it was. Anyone got any ideas; especially for the slow servo creep ? It is certainly not flyable like this (sigh....). Thanks Don |

| Flyin' Around ![]() | Mike - thanks for the original info. I think I have sorted it all out. After a couple of frustrating hours, I figured that I should start from scratch and follow the 'if it looks right, it probably is right' dictum! So, I set it all up from the beginning, fiddled with the rudder sub-trim to sort-of stop the servo creep and had the first spin-up on the kitchen floor! It all seems to work! I didn't actually take off as this is one scary bird at 1/2 power in a small kitchen rather than the great outdoors. Still, the tail seems nailed, it moves the right way when I move the rudder stick and stays rooted to the spot when I power up and down. All I need now is some good English weather rather than high winds and rain. Can't wait!Don |

| Flyin' Around ![]() | Mike - well, after having another spin-up, guess what? The main shaft was bent (out-of-the-box). So, after a tour round the forums, where a lot of people are saying this is quite common, I put in a new T-Rex main shaft (upside down) and the spin-up was now smooth as silk. After your comments about the throttle, I checked the collective pitch curve and flattened it down a bit as I had 50% throttle at 1/4 throttle stick position. Finally, the weather over here is cold, wet and windy. So, I cleared out the kitchen as far as possible and spun it up again. She went light on the skids and then smoothly lifted off into a nice hover with the E-Sky 0704A working really nicely. I don't over-do it as the turbulence from the rotor was getting a bit much in my rather small kitchen, but as far as I could see, it was doing as expected. Now all I need is no rain, no wind and I can try it in the garden.Don |

| Flyin' Around ![]() | so I am new to this and would like to know if there isa video setup tutorial anywhere that I can see what I need to do to set up my new belt cp from start to flight dont know even where to start .How do I trim out his helli so that it flys right and is a little more easy to manage a hover ?all of the treads that I have seen have been on all modified kits with digital trim options on the tx but none with the contents that come in the rtf model. how can you setup a pitch curve on the regular anolg tx.My main concern is that it gets setup to hover |

| Ohio Huckfest or BUST! ![]() | this could be tricky , did the analog radio come with it?? most helis need a throttle to pitch curve mix so unless it can be mixed do so it may not work.. i got the arf belt cp and alot of it was still loose, make sure you go over all the connections and keep them tight, but so that nothing binds, i dont know of any set up guide here for thebelt, but alot of the trex stuff works the same way,, also if you dont have training gear get some, it will save you money haha. get a pic of how things are now withthe power on if you can, pics from the side and front of the swash and of the tail rotor. will get this bird flying! welcome to the club mike

Apart from that, look on the web for basic setup instructions for any ccpm heli e.g, get the swash plate level with all controls neutral, make sure the heli is balanced (i.e it should hang level when suspended from the flybar), get the pitch range right (I currently use -2 to +8 for general flying around), dont go too crazy on the collective/throttle mix (linear is a good place to start) etc etc. Training undercart is a good idea. Good luck! Don | ||||||||||||||||||
